PICS 12k 10K Apex

READ MY FINAL POST ON PAGE THREE…Grrrrrrrrrr

they will be going on the car today. I’ll do a review later.
seems like a very good product. and yes they are DA specific.

OK
New suspension has been installed. First the product went in very smooth.
Started off by slamming the car as much as it could go (with out touching the pre load) The car was just tucking with bald 195/50/15’s.
The photos below show how low you can go. I raised it yup to help accommodate the new 205/50/15 which will go on next week

The ride quality is amazing. I went from Ebay style coilovers to 12k 10k. Apex (non adj) for those thinking they might be to stiff I say no way. firm yes but not stiff.
My GF also approves with the ride quality.
money well spent!!!

I live in Canada where the roads are shit and I must say I’m impressed.
Cheers

10 and 12k spring rates on a 2600lb car and the ride quality is good?

I’ve got the same coil overs but 10/8k.

Make sure you adjust the preload correct and unload your bushings.

Thats what I was thinking.
Ride Quality is a very subjective thing.
I wont lie it’s taut. She’s no Lincoln. But when you hit a bump it just takes it like a champ.
And I still have full travel.
672 lb up front and 560lb springs out back
I’m thinking the science is in the dampening

what do you mean by “adjust the preload “correct” and unload your bushings.”

by unloading the bushings he means, anytime you lower a vehicle you need to unbolt and retorque any suspension components that were affected by the drop like the control arms(or more importantly the rear trailing arm bushings). you need to tighten down suspension components at ride height so that the bushing isn’t being twisted and loaded.

yes I did this.

Plus jack the car up to unload them iirc, I think that’s what the instructions said.

Also make adjust the preload as per PICs instructions.

well after only a few hundred kms seems like I might have a problem with the rears. an odd rattle is coming from PS rear top hat and a knock from the DS rear strut. I rechecked all bolts and everything is tight. the PS top hat has some play but I have it tight. The knock from the strut comes and goes.
Grrrrrr. thinking I should have just bought koni’s :violin:

There are a bunch of PIC nut swingers out here. Many of them have talked the product up so much, and are now slowly starting to switch to something else. Not surprised honestly. Another local member here purchased their bushing replacement kit . . . total garbage. The thread is on team integra. I’m not thrilled with PIC’s performance so far. The spring rates are ridiculous for cars as light as hondas. Especially daily driven ones. just my .o2.

have to honest the spring rate I’m running is great. I’m amazed at how well it rides very smooth considering the performance gains. I’ll post more after I give them a call.

our opinions must differ greatly b/c i’m running rates less than half what you are and at times mine is sharp. i don’t see how rates that high can run smooth. the civic i rode in here with 10k/8k rates the ride sucked horribly.

One man’s spring rate is another man’s hell.

I’ve personally had no issues with my PICs. Paying attention to see what happens.

I guess. void of feel is not my idea of a nice ride. sharp and tight is perfect.
doesn’t feel hard on the car but I understand it’s not for everyone.
PIC must be closed today
can’t get them on the phone

Where did you buy them? Teknotik?

Ya Teknotik.
Good guys.
Got a call back from PIC.
they listened to my issue and will be calling Teknotik.
still not sure how the problem will be handled but so far I’m happy.

Eric is a good guy. I’ve dealt with him for all the new parts in my build.

Hope it works out man.

was off getting new tires today
Falken ziex 502 (205/50/15)
