I have had this turbokit in my car for a full year. I braced the turbo manifold properly and never had any issues of cracking. The boost comes on quick. I am at full spool at 4500rpm with a LS/VTEC setup. I pulled my kit out about a year ago and started parting everything out. I still have my complete turbokit still in my basement and contemplating putting it back in, or selling it complete. i miss not having that power under my foot. At 15psi I made over 450 on pump gas. I will post my dyno slip when I go home and dig it up. I will make up my mind at the end of April if I am going to give her one more chance. But if anyone is interested in buying it check the Canada forsale section for details. Its a great kit with no issues. My kit comes with:
Turbo manifold/ not AC compatable
SC61 Turbo
35mm Tial wastegate
750cc injectors
boost gauge
downpipe
2 custom chrome one piece intercooler pipes
Spearco intercooler (can support 700whp)
SSQ HKS blowoff
braided oil feed and return lines
-Stock first Gen B16A head with 2001 GSR cams (TypeR Inner & outter springs)no porting
-B18A bottomend
-81.5mm bore
-Eagle rods
-SRP/JE forged piston
-STR blockguard
-JG Victor X inatke manifold
-Stock throttlebody bored to 64mm
-Stock LS tranny
Thanks guys. I really do miss the boost. Right now i have a N/A LS/VTEC motor and it is slow as ass. One part wishes someone will buy the kit, and the other side hopes it doesn’t happen so I can play it again. Playing with 2 performance cars at the same time is not good on the pocket book or the marriage. The wife says you can keep one, so take a pick.
Did you ever take that beast to the track? If so, PLEASE tell us what a 450 hp DA will do to(I mean on) the asphalt. What were the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times! :hump:
I am quite sure it would run mid 11’s @ 126+mph. Ran alot of 11 sec Mustangs and Corvettes on the roll and walked away. You gotta love the Power to weight ratio. Didn’t track it because it is my daily driver and can’t afford to break parts with slicks on. I am only rocking a LS tranny with no LSD :bang:
I took it out just before winter hit. Didn’t need that kinda juice in the snow. Then I wanted out of the game so I starting parting out my Teg. Sold just about everything except the turbokit. Now its haunting me again.
I took my GN out today, I made up my mind now. The teg has to go. One turbo car is enough. Time to get a full size 4 door family car so i am not tempted to soup it up. $2550 U.S. plus shipping gets the kit. All the R&D is done. If it seems like too much power, get a 6psi spring for the wastegate and make around 270-300whp. Kit is very reliable and totally street friendly. I drove this kit all summer long with some super hot temps last year and I used a half size Del Sol rad with the stock fan and she never went past the half way mark on the temp guage.
