here’s a pic of my rad sitting inplace. I never got around to fabbing up the brackets that I need to hold the bottom so i’m running stok rad right now. I hvae the picture in my head of waht I’ll do tho and i’m pretty srue it will clear. the bottom of the rad itself is sitting on the stock rad mounts in this pic. looks to sit about the same height as yours.
Boosted-Hybrid does good work
Props to him and you for a nice setup!
I have that same spearco intercooler. Did you have to remove your p/s cooler lines to fit that?
I’m guessing you are referrng to me? If so. I removed them to make isntall easier. it does but right up against the middle rad support but you COULD still have the P/S cooler lines. you would ahve to relocate it above the intercooler then. either that. or jsut psuh the intercooler forward about 2" but then you’ll have to grind the mouth of the bumper a bit sicne my intercooler now almsto tocuhes it.
Looks nice and clean but you should finish removing your abs stuff…
That wasn’t for me, was it?
Pics from the underside of the car are coming which include my rad support, downpipe set-up, and crossmember.
Yes, that comment was directed at you since you didn’t take out all the abs components.
Please enlighten me as to what ABS components are left.
Does the Full-Race x-member hang lower than the stock x-member?
Oh hell ya man… it hangs down a GOOD 2" or more hoenstly… I ahd to raise my car over an inch because when I ahd it all isntaleld and put my engine in. it was 1-3/4" off the ground. Couldn’t even sldie a 2x4 udner it so I ahd to raise it alot. the major major downfall of most aftermarket beefy xmembrs…
Werd, with aftermarket ones I guess it’s just a matter of give and take.
yes. it’s just a matter of how far are you willnig to go and how much you want to spend… I went with it only because of my turbo kit and the lack of space to really do creative things in the limtied space. I did not do ti for trhe traction help. that was a plus haha.
Yea, the 1 negative aspect of the bar is far outweighed by its benefits! I will be ordering one of these in a few weeks!
Good to hear!
You left a good portion of your abs wiring in the engine bay… (hint, hint, hint… relays…). Personally I would remove the relays and ALL of the abs related wiring (both inside and out).
damn… nice car!! I live 10 min from Evans tuning!
First off, that is one sweet-mother-F*cking car dude. Very clean build. I love the equal length tubular manifold. That little gem must have cost a pretty penny.
My thoughts:
Any overheating problems with the half-sized radiator? I’d keep a eye on water temps, considering boosting will stress your cooling system more, and you’ve cut your radiator size in half. (Although, this could be negated by having a very efficient half-sized radiator.)
Are you running an oil cooler?
How did you set-up your EMS? Specs? Graphs? Charts?
Also, how many miles were on the stock B18b block when you LSvtec’ed it?
In anycase, awesome job. (Just paint your red wheels black-and you’ll be set. The red wheels look a bit ricey IMHO.)
Why the HKS Hi-Power? Isn’t it restrictive being only 2.17 inches?
I thought it was 2.38" ID? 2.5" OD?
The hi-power is 55mm piping, which is about 2.17 inches.
