pics of tweeter location's

Oh yeah…that’s the part I forgot. I did remember drilling/gouging out the unused area of the huge molex plug that clips into the door to push through my wires…up the rubber tube to the body. :bang:

does any one have pics of where the mounted their tweeters??? im having trouble finding a good spot to flush mount them

Bringing this thread back from the dead cause I want to mount my tweeters!!

no time to read all of the post’s but i mounted mine by the vents on top of the door panel (the little vents for the defrost i believe) great look and sound

I mounted mine on the triangular plastic cover for the mirror bolts on each door

:gotpics: any pics though???

yeah give me a lil bit and ill get some pics

ill add other pics later batteries where low and i need to remount one of my amps the mounting bracket broke

Mounting the tweeters their made it great for listening and very easy to wire in sense their still on the door and if i need to sell the car all i do is replace those two pieces from the junk yard and im done no big fabrication work to do

Hmm. How did you mount them to that piece though? With screws or double sided tape?

two self tapping screw
make sure their short so you don’t hit your power mirrors wires if not you can always screw it on then cut the screw to length also make a small hole for the speaker wire to come in threw or have them low enough to the door where you don’t see the wire behind it

could you do pics of that (the way you mounted them) next?? I would appreciate it!!

dude its really simple: Just take your tweater housing the back portion that the tweater sets in with the holes and mark them on the plastic with white out or a marker you can see. Now take off the plastic cover for the wires for the mirrors and take a drill and screw the tweater housing onto the plastic cover. then use a saw and cut the screw smaller so when you put the housing back on it doesn’t cut the power mirror wiring. Then next step is to either run your wiring from under the door panel and behind that plastic house into the tweater or on the outside of the plastic cover the choice is yours. if your tweater house has a 3rd hole which i suspect it does for the wiring take your drill and a drill bit and make a hole for the wiring. then all you have to do is connect the wiring and snap it into place if you need pictures i can do that also

sorry i’m a visual learner :stare:

Hmm it seems like everyone goes to components. On my last install I chose to stay with 2-way coaxial drivers. With only 65rms x 2 to the front stage, I would hate to use a passive crossover, and it also seemed pointless for me to install components without using properly designed ported enclosures. When I do upgrade, I plan to mount the tweeter slightly in front and above the midbass to avoid separation. Also, If you are going to spend any amount of time on your front soundstage, spend the time to sound deaden the doors and set up a low pass filter on the speakers.

Ok I installed mine on the Power mirror plate… I’ll get pics later…

back from the dead, but i thought i’d contribute to this thread with my placements:

i too tried it higher towards the mirror, but it sounded as if the music was coming from more than one place, which i dont want.
