joseph, do you live in san diego, because if you do then maybe you can swing by and help me out with my turbo DA. Let me know.
TTT for new pics/setup
:owned:
comptons finest, I’m surprised you kept the grill in. Most people I’ve seen cut theirs out, I thought it was because of space, but obviously it’s not.
im only boosting 8.5 psi. since its my daily driver.
No overheating issues at all. I have driven the car from LA to Vegas numerous times during the summer and the temperature didnt even rise even with the a/c on.
The turbine and manifold is greddy including the heatshield. The rest of the intercooler piping, I had to fabricate.
thanks:)
Im sorry but I am all the way from Los Angeles. Send me an email if you have any problems with your install and I will try my best to guide you in the right directions.
I got my kit yesterday, the pipeing from the intake doesnt have a spot to mount the wastegate ( or is it BoV? ) do I have to cut out a spot and weld it ?
Like on Hondatec’s car, I notice its mounted in different spots on alot of cars.
Tchleung, do you run an open wastegate?
Yes sir.
Tchleung - You running a clutch master cylinder?
also where are the two lines coming out of the valve cover going?
wonder what an open wastegate setup sounds like
-Hoots
TurboG2teg311: That is my power steering breather reservoir… Modified a clutch master resrvoir for it. Those two lines are dumping behind the cross member. Same with the valve cover breather. I ahve it rerouted a much ncier way now but same idea still.
superduperhoots: It depends how your setup is. Mines very quiet. on the weekend I made a new dump tube, same size and bends, jsut a tad longer and it was 2 pipes welded together so it had an extra “rib” prolly causing a bit of turbulence, and it made the wasetgate louder. Not much, but enoguh to actually ehar the wasetgate. Before I couldn’t even hear it open.
I was looking at my turbo kit parts last night and it looks pretty easy to install, well the bigger parts anyway. I dont have any instructions with it so all the small stuff I wouldnt have any idea where it goes, I could mount the intercooler, WG , BOV , turbo , all the pipeing, I think all the small stuff is for running the oil lines, looks like they might have included fittings / bolt sizes for all vehicles maybe thats why it looks so confusing :\
also im going to be running 6-7 PSI on stock internals, it should put out about 190-200 hp or so ( if im wrong correct me ) , How would this hold up in a race against an LS vtec , they have both about the same HP, personally I think the Turbo would win ( assuming they are both equally skilled drivers ), what do you guys think ?
Also would this setup with a good driver on average what times should be expected ? low 14’s ? high 13’s ?
Here is mine, I dont have any current pics yet. I actually have the motor complete, with the manfold, turbo. Now im bolting up, mics. other things.
I will post more pics later as it progresses
^ WOAHHHHHH:drool:
