Running a T3 at 6 psi on my bone stock high mileage B18a pushing out 170whp and 160tq. Will probably be rebuilding a motor during winter. Still undecided on the route to go, either forged or simply a good rebuild. I don’t know if forged would be worth it as 200-250 whp would be enough for me.
It’s supposed to be a 48/60, but i’m suspecting that it might be a 42/48. I think it was written AR48 on the hot side if I remember correctly, but not sure if this means a 42/48 or 48/60. Anyway, I get full boost at about 3000-3500 RPM. it spools very quick and I love it! That’s why I wanted a T3, for low RPM boost. I don’t like having to rev at 5000 to get some boost.
Answer, did you route your hot side charge pipe through the frame rail? Just curious because your set-up looks very simple and clean. Thats my two favortie things I like to see on cars. Over complicated set-ups frustrate me and make me want to punch baby kangaroos.
Man Jdecks and Answer gots some nice clean looking setup… very simple to the eyeballs! I likes! Both of you guys… what kits are you guys running… or did you guys piece it all together… sorry if it’s a noob question… really don’t know much about turbo yet. :whisper:
Mine is a custom kit. I had the manifold/downpipe custom made and I personally made all the rest of the piping myself. The hardest part was modifying the crossmember to make room for the downpipe. But it was worth it
The other water line is attached to a spare nipple on the water pipe side of the thermostat housing. As for the other one, I took the factory plug and drilled and tapped it for an adequte size, it was 14mm x 1.5 or 14mm x 1.2 if I recall lol. You can’t go any bigger as the plug had is not that big to begin with, unless you were to weld a steel AN fitting on it, which I wish I did in the first place as you can see I had to have a cluster of adapters to change the metric thrad to the proper AN size
PS: Imagestation is shutting down soon(Noticed it in your sig)
oh thats a damn nice setup u got there. i’m so jealous of ur benson sleeved block. if i may ask, how much did it cost u for sleeving and for shipping. i noticed ur from the interior of bc so ur shipping costs would be almost identical to mine as i’m on the coast of bc. i’ve been looking into getting mine sleeved for my boosted build and so far workmanship from benson himself looks to be almost unbeatable. on there site it say 975us for sleeving and final machining. anyways i’m gonna stop rambling and wait for ur response :hyper:
you guys really arent helping me! ive got all my parts waiting to be installed in spring. the snow just showed its face up here so i got to wait until at least march.
