so according to that not all of our cars were actually assembled here in the states, both of my g2’s were made in Suzuka as well if this info is correct, i also went back and checked the Carfax thread from Jan. and pretty much everyone has the S for the 11th only a couple dont have it

if anyone else has something to add to that, that they know or found or whetever plz do

plz archive this

and i do agree with Neil on that algorithmic order thing, i read on here a while back that the GSR’s were not made in numerical order, i remember a couple guys had lower build dates but had higher vin#'s then some with lower vin#'s

thats not an asembly code… it is the factory code… we KNOW where they were made… Suzuka, no argument, no debate old news

sorry to kinda go off topic but they wanted to know where his car was made and the 11th digit is the Assembly Plant Location(it cant change)
V IN confusion read that link

and i got all of that information above off of a Accord site

and here is one of several vin sheets that i have from school that the teacher received from a close freind of his that works at a GM Dealership

well i think its cool to have the 1000001 numbered engine to me … even if its the first one made or not

once again whitey… your wrong. I have done the foot work, if you want to know what is, then ask and I will give you correct information. the “S” code is the plant of manufacture, same plant that makes the high end honda cars, NSX etc. this is NOT the asembly plant. the reason I am saying this, is because the cars had finish assemble done in canada (ALL 92-93 gsr’s come from canada), period. I am getting tired of saying these things over and over…

Us Texans always aquire cool shit. Congrats on your find.

if u say so BIG SCHU since you seem to know everything, but yet havent put one peice of proof down to back up what you are saying, but yet i have put several things down that say the 11th is the assembly plant so yeah whatever u think i guess, i am done and dont feel like arguing anymore one this topic, they ask about the vin and how to read it and i answereed there question

Considering people like Schu and I have been around G2IC since you were in elementary school, you’d think that we’ve already tried to figure out this information about G2s, in particular GS-Rs. The information he is trying to tell you was determined years ago, before you thought about registering on G2IC.

Respect.

ummm yeah i have been here since late 2002 as well for your information, this is my second sn here, and he has not put up one thing that says the 11th digit in the Vin not being the Assembly plant

Congrats on registering in late '02 as well. :blah:

As far as the legwork done, Schu has contacted Honda about this, attempting to find out just how many GSRs were produced. It was on many occasions like this that the information slowly trickled out.

As for some credibility for Schu, here’s a post made on HA.net in '02 by a guy named “The Blazer”, second from last post.

I don’t feel like searching google further, but the plant in Canada is the HCM Alliston plant.

ok thank you that is getting much better but why is he trying to tell me the 11th digit is not the assembly plant i just did a little more searching and i found a NSX website with a VIN decoder and guess what it says the samething i have been trying to explain. the 11th digit in the VIN code is where the Vehicle was assembled, http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/General/vin.htm so i dont know what to tell all of you people, why dont you guys go off and try to figure out all of the Assembly Plant codes like i have been then maybe we all can figure this out before you go off and tell me my info is wrong, because i have yet to see someone else on here post those codes

By who? I have yet to see much factual arguements made here… Reminds me alot of the bickering on my amc forum about how many ss/amx’s were made…

By Schu as per Honda.

EDIT: Not to continue the bickering, but IIRC, the info about Canadian assy came from the search for the number of GSRs made.

Oh well, I’m out of this arguement. Like you said, it’s been hashed and rehashed, no need in continuing.

ok how about this here in this thread http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81094&highlight=vin , back in Dec. of 2003 Schu made a similar thread, in fact it is so simialr he has the exact same info. i posted up aways that i found on some other website, VIN codes Explained, now if you go read what he said there the 11th DIGIT in the VIN code is the ASSEMBLY PLANT just like i have been saying so ya’ll are just contradicting yourselves, so why does he now change it to just being a Production Plant? hmmmm interesting its not like the VIN’s have changed any between then and now
