It’s not physically big… and it’s damn near half the weight of the 2.8L… I agree though… I do find myself changing lenses during a photo walk-about periodically… but other than that it’s an amazing lens… I let 3 people shoot with it and all 3 went and bought it…

plus 6 round magazine extension(that’s 23 rds total for the above magazine or 16 for the glock 26 mags)
and next week I will be picking this up hopefully(waiting on my cousin to decide if he wants to get rid of it, if not I will get one elsewhere.

I talked to my desk officer with the organization that’s actually sending me overseas, waiting to hear back on reimbursement. Odds are they will since the AF didn’t.
Still gay I had to front it though. Offutt didn’t have that issue. Take the shit in, drop it off and say “i’m deploying” and they automatically knew who to send the bill to.
how many uniforms are you getting done? It only cost me like $5.00 per uniform at Lackland.

nametapes, occupational badges, and stripes for 5 abu shirts. since clothing sales is about 10-12 weeks out for nametapes, i had to order them through the alterations shop so they were more spendy.
it’s the east coast too man. everything’s more spensive out here. even the hookers.
decided to go through the drama to get an exemption to the 10 day wait(figured the worst they would do is say no). They signed off on it so as soon as the 26 comes in, I get to take it home 
nice.
According to reg the deploying unit is responsible for payment of that stuff, Ferret. But . . . wtf? Why aren’t they issuing you the new uniforms? Not supposed to have to worry about patches - just tapes.
The ABU’s themselves were issued by the AF, as were my flight suits, boots, socks, APEC Jacket/liner, and about $350 worth of Underarmor.
What they didn’t pay for (but did at Offutt) was patches, nametapes, and sewing everything on.
As for the deploying unit, that’s where it gets complicated. I’m USAF, but I’m attached to an outside agency and that’s who’s actually deploying me, so there’s a bunch of confusion as to who exactly is responsible for the “little shit” like this. Since they don’t have access to the Air Force uniforms, they have the AF issue those out and as far as the AF is concerned, issuing the clothing is the limit of their responsibility.
