i love it so far! (but colin was right, the pedals blew ass. already threw on my other commuting pedals from the specialized.)

its cold outside and i’m still drinking cold things

Yeah, I bet it’s real cold in California.

Actually, how cold is it where you are?

48F and it’s raining  , this is Los Angeles though, not Colorado. 48F to us is killing us. We’re used to 70-80F everyday.

i’ve got my snowboard jacket on and i’m sweating bullets!!! time to take it off!

fuck is was 34F last night around 6pm. Not sure far how down it dropped throughout the night but it was supposed to get down into the high 20’s. I’ll have to see what it is tonight when I get home. It’s way to fucking cold for me though. At work I’ve got a heater at my desk to keep my feet warm, even though the office is set at 70F.

I wouldn’t touch any EFS lenses… if you ever want to go to any non-rebel body they wont work…

good for you man. good luck with it.

I got that same lens  I haven’t really used it at all though. It has gotten some really great ratings and I bought it just to round out my basic collection so that I’d have a longer lens for things like track days.

You are incorrect about the “non rebel” comment. You can still use the 20D/30D/40D/50D bodies which are excellent cameras. True, not full frame, but still excellent cameras.

I now have almost only EFS lenses. At first I didn’t like the idea of that either, especially since I still have my EOS film body. But the reality of it is that I would have had to spend a LOT more in order to get the same caliber of lenses but full frame compatible. That combined with the fact that resale value for good lenses is quite high there really isn’t much of a loss you’ll take should you ever decide to upgrade to full frame.

qft. just don’t go full frame and you’ll be straight.

i have recently acquired the 17-55 f/2.8 IS which is an EFs lens. It rivals the L’s. Particularly the 24-70 2.8. However if I wanted to go FF i could easily trade straight across or sell/buy the 24-70. its not a big deal. besides, the 40d and definitely 50d is more camera than most will EVER need.

how much? I need some new work boots and I could wear those in uniform. How tall are they?

Thanks man, Its only been 3 days and its already pretty hard. Oh well gotta stick to it!

i’ve got over 2 years in. it was 2 years in august. the first week is the worst, and after that, it gets better. just don’t give in, just remember that it’s always darkest before the dawn. and don’t expect the cravings to ever go away either, i still get them all the time. almost every day, actually. but you will thank yourself in a couple months when you smell someone else smoking, and it totally grosses you out. you don’t notice how horrible it smells until you quit. the worst is when someone comes inside from smoking in the cold, and when someone comes inside from smoking in the rain. :vomit:

just keep at it.
