how are the rides with you guys? i had my el-cheapo coils set as low as they could go (with no bump stops on stock shocks) and uh, lets say itās not the smoothest rideā¦ every bump slams HARD, i saw my air freshener on my dash do backflips over bumpsā¦ the small crack on my windshield has doubled in sizeā¦ so i raised it a tiny bit and itās definitely alot better riding but bumps still hurtā¦ iām going to raise it a tiny bit more and stick some half-cut bump stops in there in hopes of ride quality improvementā¦ oh well what can you expect from $120 coiloversā¦
You have to get lower profile shocks. Or all you will get is a shitty ride. Plus, itās dangerous to ride slammed on stock shocks. Imagine going around a turn supper fast, hit a bump, and your ass end hops and skips causing you to loose control.

Anyone else bottom out their trailing arm or rear upper control arm? Iāve got marks from both of mine bottoming out.

true, the thing is though my brother is on the same setup (coils on stock shocks) and his car is much lower and it rides 200x betterā¦ and his coils arenāt set all the way down like mine, i donāt get itā¦ my coils are just shitty? i did end up putting half cut bump stops back in and it rides waay better, but itās still bouncy as hell (riding on the bump stops i assume)ā¦ and my coils are set as low as possible and there is still wheel gapā¦ if i raise it half an inch it rides like butter but i canāt stand the heightā¦ would actual lowering struts allow my coils to sit lower?

so after numerous amount of experimenting due to not being satisfied with the bumpy as hell ride and the non-ability to ride slammed with my coils THIS is why ebay style coilovers are bouncy as hell when slammed:
remove these USELESS top perches that interfere with the stock top hats and not only can you go lower (finally!!!), the ride quality is increased TRI-FOLDā¦ i can now ride slammed on ebay coilovers in peaceā¦
