Post up your battery relocation pic

I always figured it was a bracket to line up with the bolt holes on the DA chassis, the battery box its self is universal I thought.

heres mine, Odessey PC680 mounted in the wheel well

Heres mine. Its under the passenger seat.

thats a pretty clever spot to put it

Under the passenger seat is a great spot, especially in regard to placement of weight. I just prefer my battery to be more accessible.

I put mine under where the stock battery goes, in my situation it was the most simple option. The wheel well area where the stock resonator goes is a nice spot visually, but I don’t feel safe with the battery on the “outside” of the car.

I used nutserts for the install.

ohh colin I like your placement, out of the way yet still in the engine bay for easy access.

looks good!

I REGRET NOT BUYING A DRYCELL TYPE BATTERY WHEN I NEEDED ONE :squint: i think i still wanna buy one… yeah i am. lol looking good guys. cant go wrong with that placement @ colin. :salute:

i might get flamed for bumping this oldness but i swear i’m glad i came here and looked before buying the PWJDM, thats the one i was going to buy. any other places to get the odyssey battery cheaper than what PWJDM is charging?

I’m actually purchasing a battery today lol.

I actually saw an ad in Grassroots Motorsports recently for another lightweight battery option I wanted to look into. Anyone else see it? I need to find my mag and get the name again so I can look it up. IIRC it was lighter and cheaper than the PC680, however there would likely be fewer (or possibly no) mount options than the PC.

Herb, please tell me you’re gonna run terminals more like Glynn and I opposed to those stupid adapters that let you use the standard clamp style connectors for post terminals.

Which terminals did you get? I don’t need anything fancy, just something that works. I plan on installing it the way you did, i don’t want to ruin my repainted hatch area by mounting stuff to the floor

Herb, the batteries are setup to accept a standard machine screw(sorry, I don’t remember the thread pitch off the top of my head), so basically all you need to do is bolt your wire to the battery. Any basic ring terminal plus the correct bolt will work. Here’s a link to the same pic I posted before but full res, sorry I didn’t have anything already cropped and close up. But you should be able to pan around and see the ground terminal pretty well. The positive side is the same but has an OEM terminal cover over it.

The ring terminals I used I think were just ones I happened to have around from an old audio install and I used heat shrink tubing to cover as much as possible because I think most terminals like this are gaudy and ugly. There are TONS of different styles available, just check ebay or any car audio type site and you should be able to find something that works for you. Maybe do a google image search so you can quickly browse different styles.

Oh, and here’s that battery I was talking about: http://www.muellermotorwerks.com/products/batteries.shtml

I was wrong though, it’s not cheaper, but it is a lot lighter.

thank you for saving me 300 bucks bro

this is also a website where you can get the PC680 batteries for cheap…
http://sepbatteries.com

works out better than portable power since they offer free shipping

the PC680MJ and PC680MJT are the same price 129.99 shipped

right on…

The battery from partable is only $104, the $147 price was for the battery, battery box and terminals. The sepbatteries is $129 for the battery only

i think amazon has them for 104 too

okay but you’re not including shipping… i just posted a site where people might be able to find it cheaper and its up to the consumer to compare the price…

just fyi the battery on portable that is $104 is just the regular PC680 so you cant compare that price to the PC680MJ & MJT variant which price is shipped btw.

and if its $147 for the regular pc680, terminals and battery box from portable… add the 3 items from sep and its $149 shipped
so the difference in price is really just shipping… which is $15 to my zip that i dont need to spend.

and if anyone wanted the MJ or MJT its cheaper through sep… MJT already comes with the terminals and that included with the battery box its $152 shipped

this would be the best deal right here for just the regular PC680 battery alone since it includes free shipping from amazon

whats the diff between the ones w/ the letters at the end, i was wondering that when i was online shopping for the battery…and you say one comes w/ the battery box? is that the one that relocates to the hidden part of the bay?

this is the battery box / hold down:
http://sepbatteries.com/hd680-odyssey-battery-holdown

MJ is for metal jacket
MJT has the metal jacket and terminals
