Im running lexus IS300 4300k hids inside of the egay one-piece headlamps. I will be modding the lexus reflector bowls to fit inside of the housings this weekend and of course i will post pics later.
where do u guys mount the ballasts?
Min are mounted behind the bumper on the radiator support, but I don’t have A/C or power steering so all my lines are removed…they fit perfectly just under each headlight…
This pic is after I installed them over a year ago. Bay looks 100 x’s better now!
Mine are also mounted underneath each headlamp
6K yellow h3 bulbs.
Same 6K hids with 9006 yellow nokya bulbs.
8k warming up with stock h3 bulb in one pieces
Fully warmed up 8k.stock h3 bulb
overall.i’m going back to 6k soon.i miss the visibility with them. 8k is cool for the looks but horrible for output.
8k looks ugly and rice, I would go with 4300
get a 8000k 55watt, it doesnt look blue, looks like a brighter 6000k.
thats what i am running right now.
??
do any HIDs work on JDM 1 pieces? any good 6k kits?
my HID’s 12k
^thats horrible. How can you even see?
I found this pic on HID planet before it crashed. Its not mine but similar to what I’ve been working on… Mine will be bixenon, using oem FX projectors, bulbs, and ballasts.
^^^OEM ballast FTW:rockon:
maybe i should do hid lol i feel out place with out them
hey rollinmyda
that day was foggy…
heres a better pic of my HID’s 12k
I’m not trying to hate on your setup. I just don’t see how anyone can see with 12K HIDs. The light just seems so unusable, not to mention I can’t see how cops don’t harrass you. There’s a reason on OEM HID applications they use 4300K. The newest HIDs are even specifically designed not to colorshift at all so they provide the best light for the life of the bulb. If you like your 12Ks more power to you. I personally will be using something else.
cops here in NC they are not that strict like other places…
i see really good wit my 12k HIDs
here’s my 8000k hids that i just put in today, so much brighter than my old nokya 9004 arctic white bulbs
Just wondering, do you guys who use anything other than a rating of 4300k light output care about light output or are you just putting hid in for looks? Anything, above 4300k starts lowering the light output, 6000k and 8000k etc just looks rice and anything above it.
Wow… some of these HID “setups” have mad crazy glare! I would be PISSSSSSSSSED if you guys were driving behind me… just saying…
