ProMcCown's DB1

Yeah I agree sticking out 8 inches doesn’t look so good. I want it to angle to the left (toward the left rear corner of the car) and stick out a few inches. I plan on getting the flowmaster axle back exhaust and getting a second tailpipe piece to modify to have the oval exhaust while still being able to switch back to a round tail pipe.

Small update. Innovative Auto to Manual mount came in today.

Good luck man! I did the same to my DB1. Not too hard but if you have any questions just lmk, or ask on my build thread since I’ll be checking there the most ha.

Thanks man will do.

Ordered new seals for the B20/ trans, Clutch kit, and Oil pan gasket. Got a flywheel for my birthday. Just waiting on a relative to find his spare intermediate shaft for me. Next check ordering Timing belt/water pump kit OEM, ARP pressure plate/flywheel bolts. Then all that’s left is, axles, fluids, some wiring. Then it’s ready to go together!

Some update photos.

The motor might go in on Saturday. Pretty much everything that can be done outside of the engine bay is done. The only major thing left is vacuum lines.

It won’t be completed as of yet, there still needs to be axles and other misc hoses purchased. Not to mention promccown needs to get back and finish up the interior.

Any advice on getting the stupid L bracket on? I think I need to pull the motor back out…

By the way, engine is in the bay.

Almost there!!

Finally drove the DB1 home today. I have to say it is a totally different car but still love it. With all the parts I’ve put into this car I basically have a whole new front end minus the shocks/struts.

So glad this car is manual now. Feel more in control and it’s more fun to drive. The B20B from attarco so far is doing well. The LS trans I got from a cousin for $50 is great, no grinds or anything.

Now that part is done I have to save up to do what I really want to this car. Which is paint, shocks/struts, and wheels.

Gave the car a much needed cleaning.

My way of paying homage to Yosemite National Park since it was my main source of income to complete this conversion/swap.

Car looks good! I need to get my mild engine build going! Are you a fellow Seasonal Park Ranger?

looking good,love the retrofit.

Thanks! I was a seasonal employee with the concessions company Delaware North that is contracted through the NPS. Although I wish I was a seasonal Ranger lol.

looking good,love the retrofit.

Thanks man I love the way it looks although it can be done a lot better. But instead of trying to make these better I’d rather retrofit some real one pieces.

Ahhh I see, either way working in the parks is awesome.

Retrofitted real one pieces…drrrooolll

Nice progress man! What do you have planned for paint? Color change or respray OEM color?

I liked my eBay one piece retro because the color flicker was nuts. I lost that when I retrofitted the Stanley one pieces and I missed it a lot. They were still bright as hell but it almost looked like pnp hids. The next one I do will be with Stanleys but I’ll sand/polish the fluting on the inside of the lenses for the best of both worlds.

Keep us updated!

Thanks! As for color, I’m thinking of just a respray OEM color because I really like this red, I believe it’s Phoenix Red.

Yeah the color flicker looks awesome! I just want to better quality/sturdy headlights that can handle a retrofit like that. Since these ebay lights can really handle the weight of the projector and all of that goodness. If I do get the Stanleys I will definitely be sand/polishing the fluting to retain that nice cut off.

Couldn’t you have just unscrewed your speedometer and swapped it over to a new cluster to retain your milage? That’s what I did when I did my LED lighting in mine.

I could have yes, but instead of getting a whole new cluster I got that piece for about 50 cents at PNP during a sale. Either way works.
