Haha fair enough. Was the auto to manual conversion difficult?
The conversion was fairly simple. The hardest part for me was swapping the pedals. When I first drove the car I felt like I was going to brake something and drove like a granny. Now I’m feel confident in the work that my brother and I did and I’m driving normal. But I’m not going to smash it until I put some miles on the new clutch.
Nice job! It’s always a bit nerve wracking driving on a fresh build, glad it all worked out for ya
Definitely nerve wracking. Not only is this a fresh build but it is my first ever swap and auto to manual conversion. It was a lot to under take being new to Honda’s.
But I figured doing all of this would be a great learning experience. I have learned a ton about my car and how it works. Plus it’s nice to say that I did the work to my car and I didn’t just pay someone to do it for me.
Switched back to the OEM head lights. I have to say, much nicer and cleaner look. But I’m definitely missing the projectors. I might just get another set of OEM or just wait to get JDM one pieces but I’m definitely retrofitting again soon.
Also took the 1st Generation Integra lip off. Didn’t fit right, was to lazy to make it fit, and off it went. I’ll just get an OEM lip until I can get a JDP lip.
You might be able to see it in the picture but I also put the Acura logo on the badge in the front. when I bought the car the logo from the front badge and the whole rear badge were missing. Now I just need a rear badge.
Tomorrow I’m going to Pick N Pull since they are have a 1/3 off sale. I need to get another ECU since the one I got was said to be a 91 but was actually a 90.
Put my Legend fog light covers on the stock fog lights. Liking the look, output, and functionality. Now all I need is to do another retrofit. I think I’m just going to retro the USDM lights.
Subscribed willcheck your thread whenever have time.
What are you doing with your ebay headlights then?
The ebay headlights are pretty much shot. The Adjustment bolts couldn’t take the weight of the projectors and broke and on the driver side like 2 of the 3 tabs cracked and are close the breaking off.
So I’m just going to take the projectors out when I get other lights to put them in and toss them.
USDM retrofit is underway.
In the oven
Pulled apart and test fitting.
Excited to see the results!
^^ You and me both! I’ve only seen USDM headlights with a projector retrofit on HIDplanet once so I don’t think this is a very popular retrofit compared to the Ebay one pieces and JDM one pieces which is why I decided to do this.
I’ve been wanting to do my USDMs but my priorities are set at getting the car reliable again
Same here. Got the car back on the road. Now I can do mods lol

Looking good will be waiting for the finished product. Where did you get the projector?
+1 that’s where all my HID parts are from.
ProMc: I was thinking about doing the retrofit you did on those same eBay headlights (non-diffused lens). Would you not recommend that because of this weight issue you had with the projector kit? The eBay headlights absolutely have horrible light output because of the non-diffused lens. Is there no hope for these things?
There was another member on here I forgot his screen name. But he took out the eBay adjustable parts and put more sturdy bolts in place to account for the additional weight of the projector. It was brought up with pictures on a thread on the exterior section of these forums. I would highly recommend you do what he did of you do retrofit the eBay housings.
I’m not sure if you’re referring to me but I have done that before. I used OEM FX35 projectors which are much heavier than the MH1 projectors and never had a problem with them. You can cut enough of the reflector out to make room for your mounts and then use a shroud to cover the cut area of the reflector.
Actually Neil that retrofit is just sitting in my garage unused. I had a light collision with a guardrail that damaged the lense of one light and they both were yellowed from Sun exposure but if you want I’d be more than happy to send them your way. You would definitely want to replace both lenses and install new shrouds on them while they’re apart (mine melted) but it would save you quite a bit of time and money if you decide you want them. If you want them shoot me an email and they’re yours for free. I’d love to give something back as a token of my appreciation for all your work put into keeping the forum going!
