Proud New Owner! #1638

looks kind of like a B18C1 throttle body. that throttle cable bracket certainly fits the bill. not sure if its possible to use a regular B18C1 throttle body with the Skunk2/Blox manifolds, I thought I had read that you needed to use an LS or ITR style throttle body. Could be mistaken, though. I haven’t crossed that bridge with my build yet.

As far as the VTEC solenoid. It seems a little hard to tell from the pic, but I would imagine that its not a SOHC solenoid. Would one of those even bolt up to a dual cam B-series? I’ve never had to deal with swapping a VTEC solenoid yet. It doesn’t look like the same one that’s on my JDM B18C, though. I can tell you that much. The VTEC oil pressure sensor is on the front of yours, where mine it is on the side, pointing outward like the distributor. Maybe the USDM VTEC solenoids are different? Not too sure, though. Hope that helps you in some way or another.

yep, that is definitely the b18c1 TB… pain in the ass to remove if you’ve got the stock manifold… i had to do it like 3 times to change my TPS

Ok cool. doesnt seem to be that bad being i have the S2 Mani. Just need to know about the hose from the IACV. Looks like there is another fitting on the TB for a hose that to best my knoledge is for the FITV in which is not even being used. Soooo yea, i wana get this S2 Pro Blackness TB on, what should i do?

I’m jealous. I’ve always wanted to have a white DB2. I had a white 92 gs. Congrats on your find.

Thanks homie. Thats what made me go out n find her, JEALOUSY. Why not get what you want in Life? Its short. Thats how i think n live my days, so with the gsr in my hands now i can do what i want with her. No problems, just solutions. Ive learned to just be patient and itll all come together. Thanks man on the gratz, its post like yours that keep me movin foward.

I found a white DB2 for $2400 all stock, but she needs alot of TLC but she is up North and I am in Atlanta GA so dice. There is also a local Aztec Green DB2 that I know of that is in great condition but its well out of my price range so I am stuck having to build my own. I have spent my $ on obtaining the rare part and jdm parts for my build. I should have just used that $ to get a DB2. Oh well, maybe I will get lucky and hit the lotto and then be able to get one.

how are things with the db2 r1? any progress?

Nothing besides swapping clusters this past weekend. I want to intall my Skunk2 TB but have to figure out how to route my IACV hoses. + if i can get my money back for those 1pieces never sent to me (member bobodahunk06) i can go and buy the right bumper and have it painted.

word.i bet that things pulls so hard with the 94+gsr head. im thinking about buying some mint 1 pieces off of craigs.guys wants 250.you think thats fair or should i hold out till i find some cheaper?

I WOULD say hold out for something cheaper, but these things aren’t getting more abundant. So, that is around the going rate for them. You can probably find a few sets for a little less, but not much.

im gonna swoop.thanks for the advice mang

Yea id say hold out too, just be patient. I really think that guy is screwing me out of my 200 bucks. Its been almost a month and he has not even returned my money

4 and 5 are the Carline/series (DA, DB, EK ect.)

6 is the body style 2dr, 4dr, hatch, wagon ect.

7th is the restraint codes( says if it has manual or auto belts or airbags)

8th is the engine type

9th is the check digit

10th is the year

11th is where the plant where it was made is located

12-17 are the production sequence #'s

I never did one of these but I thought I read somewhere (HT maybe?) that they reroute the IACV or use an aftermarket one… Maybe soemone here can enlighten us

Hows she doing brother???

been wondering how the db’s been doin myself.anything new r1?

also,my db2 came with a coin tray/cupholder.the guy i bought it form swears its stock.did yours have one to?

Mike, Shes ridin dirty my friend as my DD now  Went to a local meet they hold in Brandon every Wednesday at 10pm n merked a b18c swapped eg (stayed under the speed limit) :stuck_out_tongue: Yea i gota do more searchin on that hose for the TB cause i wana get this thing installed.

Cpt9, I dont think I quite understand…Is it like a din cupholder like instead of a cubby under the radio? If so i dont think it has it or i just fail to notice haha

R1

its right under the radio. where normally on all my other da’s,there was just an empty slot.(fits cd’s etc…) its a double deck kinda job.top one slides out and its got a coin stacker thing and lil tray on the left.bottom slides out and its to cupholders with a little plastic bottom that folds out. guessin you dont got it? just wanted to know if its oem or a custom touch by prev owner.

congrats on whompin the eg.those things are really light. guess driver does matter, ha!
