Does anyone have this installed in their car. I thoungt it would be cool to have a engine button (like S2000) installed in 2nd gen. teg. If anyone has it can they post some pictures and describe how to do it. Thanks
i dont have any pics but have been thinking about this.
I guess you could buy a cheap remote start system and get two remotes. Install one “stealth-like” inside and use the other. Just have to make sure its never in gear when starting.
put the key in to drive off or dont hook up the brake safety switch…but then no one would need a key!
This is what a Bmw guy did. I was thinking something like this.
Note the RED button
i have one installed in my teg, i don’t have a close up detailed picture though.
I can however tell you what you have to do to install it though.
mine is installed to the right of the wheel right under the buttons. I cut a hole in the dash panel, then all you have to do is splice into a few wires, ignition, starter, 2 grounds, and if you buy one thats lighted, you need to tap into a 12v source.
i’ll post a picture of it this weekend.
dood i need help now, im in the garage and i have no damn clue!!!

Then anyone can start it with or without a key, right?
Correct me if I’m wrong but, I believe that you have to turn the key to the on position. <no cranking> Looking at your ignition, it should be in the II position. After that you push the button.
ahhh…
Yes, the key has to be to the “ON” position, then you can press the button to crank the car.
the way a car starts, it requires 3 wires, a constant, ignition, and starter. basically when the starter wire hits the 12v current, the car cranks over. if you wanted to you could do some simple re-wiring, and have the car start with no ket, and just the start button. but i don’t recommend doing something like that unless its a track car or somethin.
there really simple to install actually, mine took about 15mins.
so tell me how please!! LOL
what button do u have the Honda one…??

what do you want to know?
and I don’t have the s2000 button, its called “ignited” by the way, says it on it, and its lighted.
I have just a regular push button starter, I got it at AutoZone. It looks just like the s2000 practically. by the way, you can find the s2000 starter button on NOPI.com i think, and also check Import Tuner magazine, I see them advertised in their all the time.
well the one i just bought looks simple, it seems as thought there are just 3 wires coming off of it…my guess is 12v constant and 2 others…lol
??

Constant- probably white
Ignition- Yellow?
Starter-Red
2 grounds- Black
thats how mine was.
ok guys i got my button in the mail 2day, and i plan to install it, i have searched extensively and have so many directions theat they all contradict each other, what i need to know is just what wire i need, they are already cut under the dash from my previous attempt…lol

Location of sale
You can get the S2000 start button and the antenna mast at this site: www.handa-accessories.com Not to be confused with Honda… its H and A accessories. Start button is only $33.14 and the antenna mast is only $14.53.
I used to work at Target, and I know they sell a security system with remote startup for like $80.00. I think it works up to 1000 ft. away. It might also have auto. lock stuff too.
:read: nvs, this thread is about “Pushbutton engine start”, not about remote starters. Welcome to G2IC!
this is crazy, paying $30+ for a button…
just buy some regular button at car shop for $3
my dad has one on his car, because he can’t start his car with the key, since he had a problem with the key ignition, so the mechanic guy told him to buy a button… all they did was pluggin a wire to the button and plug it directly to the starter… not sure how he did, but it is something easy to do…
Does anyone have like Step By step Written INsructions for this? Like In a teg Tip?..SOrry I a noobie
