I would be glad to do a write up on a push button start for our cars where you use a factory button that is located on the dash but in all actuality you could really use any button you choose its just sneakier to use the factory buttons.
these are the buttons or switchs I have used so far
a/c button(for those who remove the a/c units)
sun roof button(for those who dont have a sunroof)
The horn button
rear windshield wiper switch( for those of you without the wiper but have the switch assymbly for it still)
etc etc
i work at a repo yard and i see all sorts of cobble-jobs, i saw a push button start the other day and the way that this guy did it was ran a wire from the fuse box (ign free pin) to the push button, then from the push button to the starter. Seemed to work fine whenever i tried starting it. Very cobbled but it worked and probly only cost about $3
well for one the way I do it is not ghetto at all and I use a relay that way it doesnt get any wires hot so they dont melt I’ve had to fix quite a few harnesses from people thinking they could just do a button straight to the starter.
what would you like to know about?
I just did one in my buddies civic where you would have to have the seat belt clicked in, in order for the push button to work. I used his cruise cont button in his car.
I will be writting a how-to as soon as I figure out how I am going to do it in my integra.
I am willing to write a how to for almost any of the factory buttons that are not being used in your car currently I am not using the a/c button or the cruise cont button so it will either be one of those or the horn button but I am going to make it so if you dont know what your doing and you try and hit the horn button to start it the horn sounds like it should lol bet that will scare the hell out of a thief
oh yeah since my integra does not have a sunroof I am looking for one of those switches so I could possibly use it too
ok everyone I will get that push button how to done as soon as I throw a new engine in my integra.check back
ok everyone I am almost done with my swap the engines in and running but with a few complications so hopefully I will have the install and the push button start will be next
does anyone have any neat idea’s for the push button start anything at all I am always open for new challenges
i took the cruise control and ac off of my car and i think im going to wire my car up so that way when i push the cruise control button it turns the acc on for my car and when i push the ac button the starter goes and then i turn the ac button off.
i just need to find the wiring under the dash so i dont have to take it all apart.
so right now im just gonna work on figuring out what to do with two spare car alarms with no remotes. any ideas?

lol find remotes lol
you should probably pull those switchs out anyway that way you could take your time and make it more quality you know:dozing:
been super busy but the motor has been in for a while and running perfect 22-0 win-loss but I will try and do the write up for the push button start when I get up and actually start doing stuff just wish I had someone at my place to remind me. I kinda did like the idea of using the cc button to activate the a/c button to push the a/c to start the car but then I got to thinking that someone would see you do the two things and so far all my buttons you cant really tell I push the button. I might do a few write ups but I dont want to see them just getting tossed around the web you know cuz I hate seein the people that do write ups not getting credit for them and others taking the credit.ok well back to the write ups I would like to to one for the a/c one for the cc button but then I was also thinking I could do the buttons on the steering wheel you know the accellerate button and slow down sorry tired sant spell but I can not do them to mine cuz I have a 99 gsr steering wheel and only the horn buttons are hooked up hell I could do them too screw it I am doing the horn button but only one I am going to try and make the other button still work as a horn hmmm I wonder that would be a great idea I could also probably make it so both buttons are the starter when you have your seatbelt on but then the horn when removed lol I am making this far too long wish me luck
so wait let me see if i even understand this please… you install a button to start the car… umm what if they break into my car all they have to do it press a button and my car starts??? or how does this work please explain???
No. It will only work when you turn the key on. But instead of using the key to start it, you push the button. So if someone had your keys they would not know to push the button to start it.
i would like to have it to where i cant start the car from my horn button. i have an aftermarket steering wheel (grant) and im not using my horns at all so i wanna use that option
that is actually exactly what I did but one of the buttons still work for the horn
check it out go to youtube.com and search civicpimpin and check out the push button start video I will post a how to on it soon its actually very simple and doesnt take long to do I did it in a parking lot while waiting for my friend to get out of a meeting took less than a hour

if you take the ac button out and break it down there is a realy small piece of metal that holds the the button in or out. you can take that out and reasemble the switch so that its just a momentary button like a sneaky button. it is the stock switch but it acts like a pushbutton for the ignition
Wow, is there no end to the idiotic, unnecessary modifications that people will hack their cars up with? This guy uses the left horn button on his steering wheel as the start button? Sooner or later he’s going to press that button while driving (either accidentally or while trying to blow the horn) and grind up his starter and flywheel gears.
Just my opinion, but wiring in a separate starting button on old cars like ours just seems silly.
