Ok, so I was racing my Integra last saturday night,…I just have an intake and thats it.
A guy comes to me in he’s 95 Eclipse RS and asked if I wanted to race him for fun. I asked him what kind of mods he had, he said that the motor is ALL stock but he has a racing tranny.
So I figured,… hmmm, the motor all stock but has a racing tranny,… i didn’t know a transmission would give alot of power, so I acted like it was going to be a cake.
We raced and I had a pretty good launch and I just hear this whisling sound, I was like WTF!!! when he passed me like I was a toy.:tsk:
the tranny sounds awesome, i want one
anyways,… where can I get one??? anybody know any sites that makes racing trannys?? i know they are expenssive, but i want one.

are you sure that whissing noise was sound of blow off valve ???the dude had turbo proably ,or he had a a built na motor , about racing tranny i really dont know about that a better geared tranny would help his car go faster but making whisling noise no way , whisling nos could come from turbo ,supercharger , or vacuum lines or possibly intake , when i had my ls set up my friend at work had a 95 black rs he thought he was fast , we raced after work one day i smoked him ,now he drives a 96 GSR lol :lol:

i don’t know how to exactly describe the noise,… but if you have Gran Turismo 3, you can get any car and put in a Full Racing Transmision,… when you go to Test Drive the car, get into the ‘Cockpit View’,… as you accelerate you will hear a noise getting loader and loader, just like a turbo building up the PSIs.(kinda).

why would someone spend like 10 grand on a racing tranny and have no mods to there engine? duh, probley because he had a turbo upgrade and was fu(ken with the noob. and if you are all about the whisle sound they sell exhaust wistles at gag stores.

The ‘noise’ you hear on GT3 is modeled after the the sound created by the straight cut final drive in a 6 speed ‘Getrag’ tranny. A few cars that come with this 6 speed German-made tranny are Audi S4, GTI 337, BDF 24 valve VR6 VW’s, S2000’s, some 3000GT’s, etc- and none of them are factory-equipped with severe duty gears anyway. Nobody in their right mind would spend the high $$$ to put one in a 95 RS:down: - the tranny would be worth more than the car.
Bottom line: you probably saw RS stickers on a GS-T.
people get thing for cheap,… as the the guy having a racing tranny,… he probably got it for cheap.
People know people, if you know the right people then you might get cheap or even free stuff.
I know some people, and I’m gonna tell you i’m getting FREE NOS, and a 45% DISCOUNT on a T3 turbo with installation.
All I wanted in the first place is if anybody know a webpage that would make trannys? that’s all i have to know.
You know you can make custom trannys, do you?
I want to custom make my own, sutable for street/track use.
p.s. … it was a damn RS OKAY… one tip stock muffler, stock ugly looking wheels but lowered, the car was white WITH Black ‘door opener’,… and it said RS on the back :mad:
For enough money, I think www.quaifeusa.com will fit one of their trannies to your car. Pretty pointless though unless you have a LOT done to your engine and have a really serious need for very specific gear ratios. I don’t think you’ll find any cheap “racing” trannies, or probably any trannies other than honda that will bolt up to our blocks and chassis’ without custom fabrication.
Yeah spec’d and toleranced by spoon w/ the lower final drive. I mean jesus how much more tranny are you going to need? And if you’re basing all of this on some B.S. story from a guy in an eclipse, have fun on your wild goose chase for some magic transmission.

I believe 2 people already said that quaife will make you a race tranny for 15K. where’s the wild goose chase?
You guys really beleive that a NA Eclipse becomes a racing god all because of a tranny? That’s silly. This guy can install any tranny he wants and it won’t give him the kind of performance he thinks it will. That’s the goose chase…
