where do I get the Cat-Co and is it better than stock? I think I’m gonna go with one of the greddy exhausts and a greddy header - so, that’s what it will be connected to.
Engine: B18A
Mods: K&N Filter, removed intake resonator,
Exhaust: Stock, XSi muffler
Loudness: 2-6
Great setup so far… i removed the intake resonator, put in a k&n high flow filter, and added a XSi muffler(looks great… 2 chrome tips)… it’s made by fujitsubo… car sounds 100% stock unless i go above 3000 rpm’s… then it’s a very nice deep tone… all the way to redline… and at 4000 rpm… the filter makes a noticeable sucking noise… kinda like a turbo spooling up. I plan to change the piping to 2 1/4 soon.
Thermal R&D (Research & Development) Classic
2.25" Stainless Steel Full Cat-back
1992 GS-R
AEM Short Ram Intake
Loudness - 7
I love the exhaust. Had it about a year, when at idle sounds like it is stock, and has a nice deep as your going through the power band. I have been pulled over for the exahuast once but i was also in 2nd gear crackin vtec so it was more the cop was pissed then anything, so he was giving them to me left and right.
B18A1
“Mugen Power” CAI (dunno, came with car)
Flowmaster Delta 40 breathing into dual-tipped DTM style tip
Sound is an all around 4 unless punched, then between the CAI howl and the delta it gets about a 8.
b16a
aem intake
2 1/4" exhaust from stock header back w/ no cat
Skunk2 muffler
at idle it isnt that bad but when i get on it I say it is a 9. Really loud esp when vtec kicks in but definately not the loudest thing ever.
do you have a sound clip please? what other exhaust would u compare it to and also how does it down with city driving like shifting at 3-4k is it raspy?
sorry, no sound clip, as far as city driving is concerned, once it is warmed up, when i shift at like 3-4k it sounds like almost anyother exhaust, however like I said, when vtec kicks in, you can hear me from a mile away.

if your lowered go with the hks. the hks is low but the rsr has no clearence at all my friend has stock ride height and has dinged his up numerous times.
hey ya’ll b4 getting the RSR exmag cat-back i was going to get coilovers and tokico shocks and dropping the shit out of it, a month after im going to get the cat-back and i was wondering since 92whtGSR’s friend has the RSR he has no clearance at all and has stock ride height does anyone know if that is really true and if i still can slam the shit out of while having the RS*R??
RS*R ain’t got nothing on me, and I even lowered it more from when this pic was taken:
stop teasing me with the pics of the gpower!!! Damn, i wish they still made it, i would buy it in a heartbeat
Pacesetter 2.25 cat back with magna flow exhaust, only bought pacesetter for mandrel bends (canada) custome 2.25 down pipe (turbo) :gunright: sound deep.
B17 w/ CAI
DC 4-1 header, no cat, HKS sport
i would give this exhaust set-up 8/10…sounds is great never gets to loud. gets a nice little growl on throttle. also never seems like im trying cause it doesn’t get that loud…then i do a 3rd gear vtec pull on them …on looks its got to be 10/10 cause nothing beats the factory dual tip…http://g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117292

custom 2.25 piping w/resonator and a stock regular muffler
Sounds like a apexi ws and super quiet at idle but it sounds deeper like bass
no my friend has the gt2 that thing has no clearance i have the rsr exmag that thing clearance wise is fine. and i’m lowered about 2 inches.
HKS Sport…
Didnt know the exhaust was aftermarket for awhile, i just thought it had tips… but someone here has the same exhaust…
Its to quiet, but its pretty decent i guess…
so, now that we got all the sound and looks covered - what about performance and horsepower gains?! which one gets the most/best?
im looking for a new cat-back since the one i have now sucks. muffler shops can never get my pipes the way i want it. anyway i like the angled canister look and only found an hks and rsr that has it. does the hks hi-power come with a silencer? if not does silencers from other mufflers fit? i have one thats about 100mm but the hks is 96mm.
Espelir also makes the canister style. A guy on Honda-tech is selling his:
ive just decided to go with an rs*r exmag since i found a pretty good deal on it. the espelirs can looks kinda big and the hks is a little too angled with a long ass tip. my driveway is slanted so id most likely scrape with either of those. thanx for the reply tho.
Excellent choice on the RS*R. That was always my first choice, but I got a good deal on my current exhaust. Plus not too many people have mine.
