Rear Fogs

does anyone know of any write up on how to install rear EDM fogs? I looked on honda-tech and i searched g2ic and team-integra.net but i couldn’t find anything. thanks and

do you have pics of what this is like???

I am guessing you are talking about the wiring? I did not have and actual rear fog switch, so I used an extra Front Fog Light switch I had laying around. The fogs only have 2 cables, 1 power and 1 ground. Basically play around with the wires in the switch until you find out which one is the power, the switch light, the constant, and ground. Sorry If I confused you, but I think there was another thread about this already, try searching again…

Sammyloski: thanks for your help.

that looks nice!

Here’s the story on my EDM FOG. I bought the fogs from a guy in the UK off his EF civic which came with two fogs in the rear. i’ve recently decided to install my rear fogs almost a year later and here’s the pictures. Blurry but you get the idea.

cool stuff right there

no problem…

looks good, did you follow the outline onthe inside of the bumper?

i didnt follow any outline…it was all free hand, no measurements either…turned out pretty good…here are some better pictures of the results. enjoy.

Nice, reason I asked is because there is an indentation on the back of the bumper where you are supposed to cut (or it was cut from factory if it was an option). Car looks good, keep it up man.

thanks man…what kind of rims are you rolling on…they look nice.

looks like it’d be a nice 3rd brake light…

Wow, speed limit 8
thats pretty random.

anybody else have rear fogs…POST your pics

haha wow ive never heard of a speed limit being 8

omg that i so sexy. an more info on the rear fog light. :excite:

Why just one? I like symmetry…

I remember reading somewhere why there’s only one (not sure on this one - this was like years ago). I think the fog light was mounted on the side of the vehicle closest to the curb, or on the opposite side of the driver so it wouldn’t be in the same line of sight as that of the driver in the vehicle following the car. I’ve seen a couple of those puppies operate in bad weather, and they’re just as bright if not brighter than brake lights. Likewise, the lens of those buggers give off a concentrated light source similar to that of fresnel lenses on stop lights, except that the surrounding fog gives the light source a very eerie glow.

So you’re saying DA6TEG has his fog mounted on the wrong side? I would think that the fogs are supposed to be mounted on the drivers side so if he’s driving closest to the oncoming lane, the person in back following him would be cautious as to not follow to the left of the front driver or else he’ll end up driving on the opposite oncoming lane… was that confusing? lol

^^ As I mentioned in my post I wasn’t sure of the detail as the stuff I read was years (actually more than a decade) ago when I was doing graduate research stuff regarding differences in rules and regulations across countries, so don’t quote me on the minutiae.

The other thing you might also consider is what kind of look DA6TEG is trying to achieve: JDM purist, bastardized JDM, Euro-DM? That would bear heavily on whether the fog lamp is on the left or the right of the vehicle.
