rear headrest seat conversion

my name is jeff d. and i drive a 1993 integra da9 rs model. so i always wanted the rear seat with headrest to give it a jdm look and more comftable for my passengers and always wanted to purchase some jdm but they were too rare and couldnt find any. so i bought some 4dr integra rear seat with headrest and striped the whole thing apart and took out the bracket that holds the headrest and converted into my rear seats. Warning…its one of the easiest conversion but time consuming! so be prepared… so bascially after i have taken out the bracket and headrests from the integra db rear seats, i striped my own rear seats and made my own bracket (db bracket that holds the bracket for the headrest is welded on the seat) that would hold up the bracket that holds the headrest. not too sure if all seats are made the same but my seats came with a design that is ready and allign to make headrest, so thats what made it easier for me because i didnt have to measure anything (hard to explain but jus take your seat apart and you will know). it took me about 1-2 hrs to make the first bracket but then after i got the hang of it it became easier. tools i used was a drill, self tap screw, washers, screw driver, and total of 8 brackets tht i bought at the hardware store. sorry i dont have pictures right now but i will soon and if u guys have any questions
please ask. P.S you can also use any headrest you want as long as you make the correct bracket for it(measure correctly) but i prefer to make it look jdm, stock and also it was already align which made it easier to do the conversion. thanks everyone and have a great day:clap:

pics???

:pixstfu: j/k… but we want pics…

rear headrest seat conversion

i swear to all you guys that i done the conversion, just very hard getting a hold of a camera…once i get the pics you wont be dissapointed…jeff d. and i hope it will inspire you guys to do the rear headrest conversion.

How are headrests in the rear a “JDM look”? You guys crack me up! If you want the JDM look just buy the real thing cause the parts are everywere! Your the kinda guy thinks orange, Oh Im sorry “amber” lights are JDM too… :wtf: Next time just say your moding your car or something cause it makes you look cheap and dumb…

1993integrada - just take your time, but wanna see how it looks like

jdm4drda7 - show me the link to get them… search everywhere can’t find them… and no i can’t read japanese…

jdm4drda7

jdm4drda7 y dont u stfu and back up your talk with a link that actually sells the the rear headrest for a 2dr…SINCE YOU SAY ITS EVERYWHERE…and yes how often do you see a 2dr integra with rear headrest and to not consider it jdm??? and dont even bother going on this thread since your too sensitive…

I agree. When I see any Honda with rear headrests I wonder if it’s a Japanese conversion. The Civics are a similar case. The JDM hatch had rear headrests; but the USDM didn’t. I’m sure the 88-95 ones did anyway.

Either way, you can just use the whole upper rear seat portion from the 4dr. It’ll fit. Search a bit & you’ll find a thread where someone has it done. I’m going to do it in the future. It looks good & serves a purpose.

Remember kids;It doesn’t have to be “JDM” to be cool.

They used to be on Ebay and on japanese part import sites like passwordjdm all the time, but I guess it is a little harder to find them now. Curious to see what you’re results are though. Also, what makes the JDM rear seat different is not only the headrest, but the fabric pattern.

as i said i’ll post pics…here it is and dont think its fake because its all real, you can tell that the fabric doesnt match…let me know what you guys think

now THATS pretty dope. props dude ,that looks nice.

i wanna put the type r rear seat in mine. matches my color scheme.

very nice
i probobly wouldn’t do it
but very nice

the type-r rear seats only fit the 4door, 2 door leave big gap
use bondo
paint it
clean:D
now thats what i want to do:manual:

uh…what?

the type-r rear seats fit right in the 4 door (DB)
in the DA they leave a 2inch gap on each side between the seats and the door, there to small.

i was saying make a wooden panel and fiberglass (sry i said bondo) it and paint it to fill in the gap

Lol just get some of the same color and it will look crazy jdm man.

Lookin’ good. But yeah, get them re-uphosltered in matching fabric. Do they go up & down, or are they stationary?

ah yea i get what u mean. i still need to get a definite answer on how they bolt up. i know its not a direct fit obviously. but i ned to know what to modify.

white92 ls

the seats metel frame has a design to make a DIRECT fit because theres missing metel where the headrest should be connected. It was nice of acura to do that which made it easier…open your seat and you will know what im talking about…to hold it up i used brackets that i bought from a hardware store…and yea it goes up and down but its not really suppose to.

These are the actual JDM back seats that I have on my car.
