Is it going to be ok just to buy another set up cast pistons for the engine rebuild… not playing on making big power hoping for 300whp or close to it.
The motor needs a rebuild. Is it a bad idea just to rebuild with stock rods and stock cast pistons?
I want something thats going to last awhile. I’ll have another engine I can build on for more power.
I’ve seen people make 300whp on the stock 100+ mile engine so why not a re built stock one?
save some extra and get some good aftermarket rods and forged pistons. Not only will you not have to worry about the bottom end as much, but you won’t have to do two rebuilds. The most important thing by far is going to be tuning. Also, if you already have a solid short block to depend on, it’s one less thing to worry about when you want to start running more psi.
edit: ahhh… tegguy beat me to it on the rod/piston thing.
