yeah, i just spent a few grand completely overhauling the suspension.
Koni Shocks/Ground Control Coils
Suspension Techniques Sway-Bars
EVERY BUSHING replaced with ES Polyurethane (all except RTAB, which was OEM Honda)
Goodridge Stainless lines
OEM Honda rotors at all 4 corners
New OEM pads, all 4 corners etc.
4 brand new OEM calipers
tires are almost brand new. less than 500 miles on them. to be fair, i have BFG’s up front and Toyo Proxes FZ4’s in the back (they still had good tread on them, so i kept them and only replaced the 2 that needed to be replaced)
the Toyo’s are not as “grippy” as i’d like, but they never let me down before in wet weather. unfortunate circumstances, however, ruined my entire gameplan for the car.
all of that not withstanding, keep in mind the motor i’ve been building for it. one mighty B20VTEC, that i was aiming to be one of the “elite” motors, if you will. i was aiming for 250+whp NA, with a very usable powerband. auto-x and road racing were in this car’s future. now, maybe not so likely.

Jake sorry to see the car in this shape. Don’t give up on the DA. You can get one for less then the insurance company will give you if they total it out. Probably in just as good condition. You should post the other pics of you car these cats have not seen. All damage is worth seeing even if it hurts the eyes.
On the other hand. The math is not right. Not trying to dis you in any way but if you were going 30mph you could not have slide 200ft in the rain unless you hit an oil slick or hydroplaned. It takes about 120ft to stop in the rain at 30mph. Maybe you were going faster then you thought and by the time you looked down were going 30 or maybe you didn’t slide 200ft. Kinda hard to judge that with out knowing for sure where you started to slide.
Whatever the case is man don’t go out with this little mishap. You put too much money and time into it to just let it all go out in parts. Shop around for another GS and keep yours for parts if yours cant be fixed. Hope you get back in the game soon. I don’t have anyone else to hang with that has a DA. I am all alone now lol.

like i said, though. it might have been hydroplaning, or even an oil-slick. i couldn’t find anything on the road though, so all i have to go on is some bit of hydroplaning really.

dude, that sucks! I totaled my car two winters ago, using the same tires in the same weather conditions. I happened to hit a 3+ foot deep ditch though, which rolled the car over a couple times, and the speed was a little higher. I ended halfway through a tree and upside down. I thought I was out of the game, but saw a '90 integra in the paper with a really simple statement, something like “90 integra, runs good, looks good, $xxxx” I decided to give it a shot, and it turned out to have a full OEM optional lip kit on it, have one of the cleanest interiors ever, and ran great. I guess I crashed my other car for a reason, even though I am still pissed about it to this day. Go with whatever car you want for the next one, but DA’s are great cars. You might even find a clean GSR for cheap or something. I am sure the whole suspension, exhaust, etc are still useable, so those would be able to go on the new one right away. I know what you are going through with this loss, it is like an empty spot inside of you. I didnt have full coverage insurance, so I was screwed there, but I learned that too, and the new car has the top insurance. Good luck with whatever you do!

while they’re at it, i’m just going to go ahead and have them fix the small rust spots that have started to show up, and just paint the entire car! that way, all the paint/body will be DONE!
took some better pics with my phone today, and with exception to the mangled fender, the body is pretty much still straight. the hood is still aligned perfectly, and the front bumper is still aligned properly, so if there is ANY “frame” damage at all, its VERY minimal. looks like this is just a cosmetic injury. waiting for a definite conformation on this though, but they said it just looks like “a black eye” that they can fix!

Synsei, :werd: i lurked a bit back in the day, around 01’ish. i just turned 16 in 01, and was toying with the idea of an Integra. I didn’t properly join and STAY until i got my DA in 03.
