AHHHH…I am about to pull all of my hairs out…I dropped the Teg at the shop at 9 am this morning…Go back to the shop at 445pm to see what they have done before they close shop at 5pm…They have not even touched her yet…Freeeking A!!!..At times like these I hate shops…I tell ya what…If by tomorrow at 12pm my Teg is still not touched…Oh boy…I will let them have the piece of my mind that is not so pleasant after spending $1300…My Teg should be PRIORITY ONE for completion…I will keep you all posted…Thanks so much for helping a fellow G2ICer…Much appreciated…
Ralfy…I’m sure you didn’t pay these guys 1300 $ to install this kit right?
I hope not…br0. I’m not sure if you should be worried about them taking for ever with your car… or if they are “professionals” as you might think. However, I suggest that you explain to them in a professional manner, what the prob is… and don’t seem like you don’t know shit about YOUR setup. At this point… you should be able to tear down the system and reassemble it by yourself and they need to know that you are capable of that. If you act like you’re at their mercy they will walk all over you.
Sounds good bro…I will do that…I did pay $1,300 for parts and labor on motor Turbo install…Shii just adds up to hell…
Walboro 255 In Tank Fuel Pump…
ARP Head Bolts…
Cometic Multy Layered Thicker Head Gasket…
Acura Dealer New Head Gasket Kit…
Labor for motor dissasemble and re-assemble was $300.00
Labor for Turbo Install was $400.00
Shaving and testing the Head was $150.00…
So adding the parts on top of that…Shii…It is not soo bad proffetional or not…
They are my friends and have done good work on many cars out there…All shops have bad days…I just get abit un patient when all I want to do is DRIVE MY TEG. LOL
Is that the green connector by any chance? Mine is broken off and I wasn’t sure what it was.
i think its green but so may be the oil one too. its the big round knob thing with the two big pins sticking out. cant miss it.
I am doing a search on how to install my Boost guage and hook up my BLITZ BOV to the Vaccuum lines correctly…No luck yet…I will post a picture of how the shop installed all…
hurry up!!
j/k…
The new lil issue…LOL
Well…I had the Thermastat and radiator cap changed…I am flushing the system today with new Radiator fluid…Took her for a spin last night and all was great…I got the BOV Vaccuum thing fixed after working on her till 5AM…All is sounding as it should now…Just have to adjust the BOV alil more…Still have a bit of Turbo noise but not like before…The BOV sounds very nice…The way that they had it connected before was to the MAP sensor…So the BOV was not working the way it should…Now I haf both the Boost Guage and BOV teed inbetween the IM and the FPR lil black sensor thingy…All is working great…I am going for a drive in a lil bit to sit her in some traffic and see what happends with the Temp…Wish me luck…Thanks for all…
Darn…Still overheating a bit…Very slow temp rise wile in Traffic…I turn the heater on and vwala…the temp go’s back down to normal…I was looking at the Fan set up…They are supposed to be PUSH Fans by SPAL…But the nitwits at the shop placed them on the inside and connected them as now PULL…I think that thins may be an issue…I have not changed the Fluid…I am going to do that this weekend…Prolly going to hook up my Stock fans and see what happens…
I had a blast driving her around town today…Spanked an S2000…From 3rd gear rolll…I left him…Then we got on the high way and he tried it again…I hit it after him and started to catch up pritty quick…My guess it that he was not really hitting it…But he did give my the WTF look…hehehehe…All in all good fun…
when you took it to the shop what did they do? or say what is wrong? did they do a leak down in front of you or did they tell you it was fine?
Well…Last time for it going to the shop…Tell ya that…They only took the manifold off to tighten the bolt on the Turbo…Also installed the Thermastat…I intalled a Radiator cap…I am going to take her to the tunner guy who is more intuned with Hondas and such…He thinks the Head Gasket was put in wrong…I am contacting Cometic to find out how I can tell if the gasket is in the correct way…There in not water in the oil…I do have to change the Radiator fluid…
It is just mind boggling…She runs totaly fine till I get in traffic…Then she starts to climb a lil…And it is not like wammm quick to HOT…no…it is just like a creep…Then I put the heater on…Vwalla back to normal…I was looking at her today…Maybe the fans are not working well enouph…Maybe the FMIC is closing the air vent way…All in all she is running good…Still noisy in the front when boosting…Like a gargling noise…Maybe it is just me…I am used to Rotary’s…The BOV is now working…Sounds nice…Still alil adjustment needed to the BOV so that the Turbo Back Spin noise can go away for good…Turbo makes alil backward motion noise then quick is followed by the BOV…Thanks for all…Will keep you all posted…
PROBLEM SOLVED…Finally I took the Electric fans out from were the Shop Peeps placed them at…(On the inside) They were ment to be put on the OUTSIDE do to the fact that they are both PUSH FANS…So while in traffic she would overheat…I worked on her for 4 hours and finally completed the fan installation in front of my A/C Condenser…It was hard and tight to fit them in but they are in and working like a charm…
Thanks to all who gave me advice and tried to help me out…Much apprecaited…
Congrats!! thats good to hear.
haha nice. good thing to remember. i wonder though, push/pull, you’d think they’d still have to suck/blow regardless.
That is what I thought and the peeps at the shop too…but coem to find out…If the fans are ment to be PUSH fans then if you place them as PULL then they will work 25% less than the true setting way…My Teg was overheating all up in traffic under little load…Now…hahaha…That temp guage stays at a lil passed a quarter before half point…Were she would be at since I bought her…All is good now…I can even hear the difference in the fans…They seem to sound louder, but not annoying…Be safe…
And thanks to “J” for the advice…He is the one that had the info about the fans not working to there full potential when switched…
I had a similar problem with mine for awhile. I bought a push/pull slim fan that you can set to do either. To make it a push the directions said to flip the fan blade and reverse the polarity. I did this and the car was always overheating. I eventually took a closer look, and the blade was installed upside from the factory. I switched it back and everything was great.
Good to hear kid …pdc125…
yay problem fixed… I was gunna say switch wires
I originally tried just switching the wires thinking that would do the job. BUT, the fan blades are curved so they must be positioned properly and spinning in the proper direction to work properly. Would have been easy if they came assembled properly from the manufacturer, but oh well. All is good now.
