i was just thinking of ways to eliminate boost spike on this mani and this should work b/c ive seen it before. cap of the wastegate on runner 1. then take the 5 bolt flange that bolts up to the turbo and cut a hole where the internal gate would go on the turbo. Weld a 45 or 90 elbow to a wastegate flange and run the wastegate there. there was a turbo kit that was made for my 90 prelude that had it set up the same way and didnt really know if i trusted it. But Ive always heard if its right before the turbo then its fine. whats everyones input if they understood the wording???
I saw a setup on a RX-7 and the dude cut the actual turbine housing and mounted his wastegate there. He said it worked fine for him. I will try to find the link.
yeah i searched for pictures of the old prelude set-up but could not find it.
i made 340hp on my drag manifold without any creep. i was running a 40mm tial with a 0.9 bar spring, 2.5" dp & 3" exhaust with no cat. i really think creeping issues depend on the exact setup you run.
I notice that yoy have the turbo turned with the dp falling down the passenger side instead of the driver. I was thinking about doing so. Did you custom make your dp??? and I will be using a 38mm wastegate. i may consider the elbow. It will only run 45 dollars shiped
yeah. it’s a custom dp that i made; clears the factory crossmember without cutting. if you are interested, i have it for sale in this post:
i thought it only fits a revhard manifold. if not then you have a buyer
is that a 4 or 5 bolt flange. Im runing a turbonetics stage 3.
the downpipe was made for a drag manifold. the flange is 4-bolt.
