Remove pink lines in 90-91 tails without taking tails apart

Now now boys. This is no place to be fighting. Were are here to discuss ugly pink lines within our taillights. Can we at least stay on topic instead of e-bitch slapping eachother with absurd comments and posts ??

Did you find any sort of degreasing liguid ??

Listen here moron… I am a writer, and have lots of stuff published… Need proof too? I ain’t going for a fucking spelling bee by posting my results of a how to in an Acura forum… Grow the fuck up.

I speak/type perfectly fine english. Unlike some moron’s around here that still speak/type like they are 7. No don’t bother with proof, I don’t feel like reading any ebonics. :english:

:owned:

The only thing you “own” fucker, is a smart ass mouth… Must be nice to be a keyboard bandit, talking shit… But in real life…? A pussy, I’m sure.

Your the one doing all the shit talking :ethug:

I’m just here trying to understand what the fuck your typing.

I won’t entertain your acts of complete and total childishness. Like I said, you can be a keyboard bandit all you want… Better hope we never meet at a meet somewhere.

:ethug:

i have baked and pried and sanded and caulked like 6 pairs of teggy taillights befor. usually they dont seal back propetly, or i warp a lense or i totally melt the fins. THIS TIME with my DB1 i used the superclean method. WOW. i think it even looks better becuz it looks stock with lines just no gay ass pink!!! i love our cars. who else is cooler than g2 owners? NO ONE!!

Boiling water and Bleach worked wonders for me

It was a huge pain in the ass for me, but I figured out I simply wasn’t using a high enough concentration of chemicals, or hot enough water. Cars been off the road for a week now, but I can afford that, unlike another set of the tails at the moment.

I got to a point where the Super Clean just wasn’t doing anything more. I decided to experiment and used paint thiner and bleach and neither did anything either. I came back and browsed through some of the more recent (re: experienced) posts and read about people using 50/50 mixes and realized I had simply gone way too easy on those lights!

As I had already finished off my 1L spray bottle of super clean I just grabbed the Bleach, boiled a kettle of water and mixed myself a nice stiff drink… shaken, not stirred. The rest of the pink came off quick fast.

I finished things off by sanding down the writing on the outside of the lens and the red/clear boundry/seam and polishing the whole lens to a nice smooth shine.

Now to just let it dry, and see what I can do about getting some actual red bulbs so my brake likes don’t look pink too.

C’mon

I’m pretty sure we’re adults here. What’s with the beef?
Think though… honestly, was that extra comment really necessary?
Post dumping… is it really necessary?
So it’s ugly. Just keep it to yourself.

$hit… was that necessary? I think I post dumped too… oops.

Hussein - I bought the Castrol Superclean myself at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart - most of them are constructed the same way. I found the Superclean in the Automotive section. Go to the car care section in the automotive area. You’ll find it. Wal-Mart should have it. Wouldn’t make sence. Don’t ask some sales rep. They’re just kids working there. It’s probably better you ask customer service or someone in the Automotive section.
Hey - I found a hatch! it’s sick. Can you ask the buyer to email me, I want to grab a few parts

Tails - This didn’t work CLEAN on my lights either. I’m waiting for someone to come up with a sollution. I tried doing it several times. I also have 1 light pink spot I just can’t get out. Tried mixing bleach with boiling water and that didn’t work. Whatever. Maybe I’ll just use my ricey all-white tails instead.

Brainsoft - thanks for the extra tip. Gonna try this one more time.

G2TEG416 - has a good write up on page 16

i did mine with purple power because i could not get the castrol stuff anywhere. my 1st set of tails worked great. 5 minutes and done. then i dryed them by putting them by a fan and flipping them every once in a while. i just did it on another set of tails and no change. i think, like stated in the post, that sun fading might be why. i will rework them tonight and see if i can get the 2nd pair to work. this is a way better that taking apart lenses i think.

Glad to know ya got it good with Purple Power… Just wear gloves when ya use the stuff!

so i soaked them in the purple, shook them, and used hot water also. so after nothing i soaked them in a good bit of purple power last night. after only a few white spots appeared in the lines i had to go to sleep. when i got back from work, tonight i soaked them in bleach and warm water. 30 minutes they are white.

funny huh. my other pair turned white just with purple power.

I have to get my car going first! I let a shop advance the timing, and now it’s all screwed up! I think I have a bent rod… Not sure yet.

Mean Green did the trick, thats pretty easy to find.

I used Purple Power, and it took a considerable amount of time to work. It finished my driver’s side ok, but it left two small light pink areas on the other tail, so I finally put bleach in there and it worked INSTANTLY. Moral of the story…if you don’t see results in 1/2 - 1 hour, USE BLEACH.

Looks great, I love it!

90TEG4DR: grow a fuse, man. You were too damn quick to e-thug anger that you didn’t even stop to think about what people are telling you. Fuckin settle down. I appreciate the fact that you post helpful stuff as well as b.s. but cut the latter, and don’t mouth off to somebody who’s been here 3+ more years than you.

I tried to do my lights and the black lines are coming through to the point were I need to have all the white gone and there is still a lot of spots of white all over the place I tried letting it sit overnight bt to no help does anyone know what I can do at this point I don’t want to have to buy another pair of tails. HELP PLEASE!!!

Use warm water and bleach, it worked instantly for me when purple power wasn’t doing shit.

ya breezer thanks for tryin but it still is’t doing a thing it is not getting rid of the black at all I read my post before and have an update now what I am trying to do is go straight through to the GREY I believe the layers go from top to bottom PINK, WHITE, BLACK, then at the bare metal, GREY. What has happened to me is it went through some of the white the first time so I decided to just go to the black because that looks bad ass too. One light came out PERFECT but the other went through the white and black to the Grey!! and in the corner there is still white even!!! Its gay and I tried Purple power, super cleaner stuff was also purple and breezer’s suggestion of bleach neither is working at this point I was wondering if really weak paint thinner would work on the paint or whatever is on the lines to remove it all??? any replies would be appreciated ALOT and Why doesn’t this go back to the exterior forum I couldn’t find it after I posted??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! Ryan ---- 92_GSR

I first used purple power for the first 1/2 hour and nothing… then I said, ITS BLEACH TIME! and in 1 shot it was over with… the clorox is cheaper than the degreaser… bleach FTW!
