Remove pink lines in 90-91 tails without taking tails apart

so what is the percenteces of bleach and water?

so everybody used hot water huh?

I didn’t really think about it that much…I’ve done this three times and sometimes bleach worked, sometimes engine degreaser…I’d say maybe 3:1 (water:bleach) but really just pour a bit in, make sure there’s more water…yes hot or warm will work

i am going to try it saturday

new white face tail lights from Turkey on the way! LOL

man that was easy, I cant tell if it looks better though cause its dark out, I’m sure it does though. cant wait for tomorrow.

I got a set of 90-91 tails and took the pink lines out today. I used 3/4 cups near boiling water and 1/4 cup of generic superclean that I got at walmart. It looks just like the castrol stuff without the name. I mixed the solution before adding it to the lights and swished it around for 30 seconds then just ran the faucet through it till the suds were gone. It worked like a champ.

It was raining pretty bad here today so I couldent get em in. Hopefully tomorrow before work.

Trouble is theyve been drying all day and theres still a bit of water I cant get out. Will this evaporate eventually or will that small amount cause condensation in the lense later? Anyone know how to get it out?

Remove the bulb sockets and use your girlfriend’s (or mom’s) blow dryer to dry them out.

Haha, every time I’ve done it I still get condensation sometimes. The good thing is they’re white anyway, so you don’t really notice. I also ruined a towel using bleach last time…haha

i dont have strong bleach here i am still working on it :gunright:

now it took already 2 hours :umno:

can you get hold of any kind of water based engine degreaser or simple green? wish I could help you out more.

dear frozen i got my bad.

i was using warm water. but now i did it with using boiled water…

i am going to upload the pics 5 min later…

Here We Go! :D:D:D

Nice work!

thanks dude

where do u get the castrol super clean.!

i have the perfect stuff for removing them. i mentioned it somewhere before. that stuff plus hot tap water bleaches those lines instantly. i should start charging for the service!!!

THIS IS GREAT!!! I have some fairly new OEM tails too.

I had some Grease Lightning sitting around, and I used that, but it didn’t do squat.

At one point, I seriously thought that I had just been punked. How could I fall for something so dumb?

So, I said hell with it, grabbed the bleach, poured it in, left the tails sitting in the bathtub, and 20 minutes later, they were WHITE!!!

To get the curve white, I tilted the lights up on the side a little bit, and let them sit a little longer.

No shaking or anything, just let them soak in bleach! I only used hot water to wash them out. They look PERFECT.

I just did mine now after reading this didi my drivers side and it worked just like most of you said but i used R.E.D. Degreaser from my work:cloud9:

BEFORE

AFTER

ima do this right now. well ima wait till my folks go to sleep so i can use da sink. lol!

just ordered some new gaskets, so ima replace that and replace bulbs that blew

and while im waiting for the gaskets to be delivered from www.acuraoemparts.com… this should be dry.

i did it to mine this morning and the first one i use water with the super clean and it’s still not cleared all out after 5 hours so the second one i only used the superclean without water or anything and it came out in like 5 minutes i already put it back so my advice it’ll be just pour super clean straight from the bottle and it’ll be way faster and you don’t even need that much a small bottle it’ll do which by the way i couldn’t find the castrol so i just used purple power i’ll post pics later

Late response, but the pink has been terminated…

Just used bleach… Only took about 10 minutes per side to remove the color.
