Remove pink lines in 90-91 tails without taking tails apart

for anyone whos interested here is a comparison of the three
red lines
white lines
and totally cleared
yes i have too many spare tail light lying around lol
can you pick the difference ??? i personally like the new white lines trick the best

If the one on the bottom a 92-93 Tail? I dont like that one so much anymore.

This has to be one of the best mods and easiest to date. My 90 Tails should be arriving tomorrow and I’ll be heading for WalMart shortly there after.

are there any alternatives for the castrol superclean?

I jsut did this mod tonight. I thoguht it was awesome. The hardest part is removing the panels to get to the screws to take the lights out, the superclean, water part is fast adn easy, but drying is kind of a pain. Overall great job on finding an easy and straightforward awesome lookign mod

the bottom one is a 90/91 tail opened up and sanded down the old skool way not a 92/93 removed lens

Hi.

In order for us to find out which other degreasers / chemicals may work with this article. Could you guys please post the amount of alkaline salts per litre Castrol Super Clean has.

I used Series 500 Grease Release which has 85grams per Litre.

Mr integra and I have been testing a few which he has been having problems with. (Kenco 35grams/L, CT15 56grams/L)

because of this teg tip i just bought a set of 90-91 tails !!!

Glad all of you guys like it. It’s funny how i just found it out by trying to clean out the dirt & grime in one of the lights my friend had sitting outside in the dirt for a few months.

This worked great only took 2 swooshes and bamn. I boiled the water and let it coo for a minute and then poured and wow did it burn, lol…anyhow would this clear up the inside dirt that I have on a spare 1 piece?

edit: even with no bulbs theres still wiring for the fogs :giggle: gotta do the old fashion way and heat’em up

finally got a chance to put them on my car…
man what a difference…

ok i jus tried it with my 90 sedan tail lights. worked magic. oooo wee baby looks clean. but i did not use castrol super clean. i couldnt find it so i went to auto zone and got a handle of clean-rite PURPLE POWER. its a cleaner/degreaser also. it also contains alkaline but doesnt list the per liter amount.worked like a charm too. so those who cant find super clean get PURPLE POWER. its the same thing. right now its drying. so yea thanx for the tip!

Holy Crap!

Anyone for a quick before/after shot? Are these actually MY tails???

I honestly can’t even believe how easy this was. This is single-handedly the best Teg Tip I’ve come across. I spent an honest 10 minutes pouring a 50/50 solution of Super Clean/warm water into the tails, mixing it around, and then rinsing it all out again. Mine are sitting and drying right now, so in the picture you can see the water and condensation inside.

Only wished I would have done this sooner! More pics to come after they are re-installed on the car.

i’m still partial to the way my sedan tails came out after i wetsanded them.  for the tinted look!!!

  ROCK ON!!! this is awesome teg tip!! i just pulled mine, i boiled some watter, dumped some PURPLE POWER in then the water swooshed it around for littarly 10 sec. dumped it out… flipped it over… VWALLA!!! its white!! littarly took all of 3 min once the lights were out! i love it. i have some good pics but they are too big to put up, and i dono how to downsize them. they look AWESOME tho. :hugs:

check my sig for resizing

i did this today, my tails took a little more soaking than what dude said above…but they are cleared out now!!!

nice…ill have to do this with my taillights soon

sweet!!!

Thanks alot Ladybug, :hugs: i never knew how to do that. like my post said above, i found it works best if you boil the water first and then dump it in. took all of 10 sec. of shwooshing it around in there.

Damn guys! Is the pink gonna be a rarity now?

I think so… mines been pink all these years, but this is too nice and too easy to pass by.
