my project for this weekend 
Just finished doing this on my 91 tails, turned out great! In addition i sanded down the outside of my tails to get rid of the plastic embossed writing to give it a real smooth look. Started with 400, 800, 1000, 1500. I then went to a heavy duty cut polish, and then to a polish and scratch remover. Applied with a microfiber cloth, and then buffed out with a polisher. Must say, my tails look MINT now!

Just did mine last week and they came out pretty good.I used cold water and it took all the pink out filling it up once.Good tip thanks for sharing 
if you put a pot of boiling water on the stove and take your tailights off the car- the water will be ready at the same time.
I heard this Super Clean can be ‘environmentally unsafe’ so we made sure not to put it down the drain- we dumped the excess on the lawn instead :shrug:
You should be able to put the Casrol Super Clean down the drain. On the back of the container one of it’s uses listed is to unclog drains… it also says biodegradable on the bottle.
anyone know wut else we could use to remove the pink inside except of castrol how bout soap or somethin else
most degreasers regardless of the brand should work…
would JAVEX work cuz i don’t have a car to guy and buy a degreaser and i am trying to find something in my house. one of my lights turned white from using mr.clean but the other one nothin is happenin to it. :ghetto:
wow i used javex and it turned the pink lines white in less than 5 minutes. wow that javex worked really nice .

anyone know if i could use Gunk engine degreaser?..i just havwe it layin around and its brand new. If not ill just buy superclean or whatever cause i NEED to do this.
Not sure about the gunk brand I would just go with the super clean it worked good om mine and the stuff is only $6

Can you get superclean anywhere? like walmart, autozone etc.?
yeah, at the bottom it says “after (apres)” and “before (avant)” … so the right one is stock, and left one is cleared with SuperClean
I’ve bought a bottle of spray superclean for 5$+tx at Canadian Tire and haven’t even used 1/4 of it!! … but they should have it anywhere they sell Castrol oil I guess! By the way, I did both tails … I just wanted to show the difference here

I used about 10 squirts for each tailight so, now I have all this extra Super Clean. It happened to be on sale (2 bottles for $9.00) so I bought two. I’m such a sucker for sales.
Hey THANKS A MILLION------------------ just did my 90-91 tails on my 93 teg, and i used the castrol method and holy crap they look so much better, dude who invented this should get a g2ic medal for kick ass dyi mods. Thanks again, i am just totaly in love wiht my new tails it changes the entire appearence of my rear.!!!
