how long is too long? i am thinking of ditching the line that came with my kit for something shorter.
Oh man redo that ASAP! It slopes upward in the middle, that is NOT what you want. Because the return lnie is gravity fed, it needs to constantly flow at a downward motion or else the oil will start trying to go through the turbo seals instead of the return line if it’s backed up.
i agree, it should be as short as possible and go almost straight up and down
It looks like your fittings are backwards…Use the 45 off the turbo and the straight on the pan
Looks like it’d be best if he just rotated the pan fitting counterclockwise by about 60* then used another 45* fitting for the turbo pointed towards the pan sorta.
yeah i need to get my ass back out to the garage soon
got my emanage today so im going to get back to work on her
thanks alot for the advice guys
Good luck
I wouldnt ‘ditch’ that line…just cut it and make it shorter. Tape the ends after you take the fittings off and use a hacksaw.
yea, you can just cut the line and put back on the fittings. those hoses and clamps are made for that adjustablility
what kind of downpipe are you using or was that custom made. and is it 4 or 5 bolt?
can u use a real thick rubber hose for your return line?
its possible but not the smartest idea…ive seen a buddy loose his ka-t in a 240 from a rubber return (wg dump + rubber return = no no). plus with a return that close to a DP i wouldnt risk it.
in this case i think id use a 45 off the turbo and a straight off the oil pan…make the line alot shorter n move it close to the DP (but id wrap the return with header wrap for extra security but it shouldnt be needed). if its not all the way down hill try a 45 off the oil pan as well
i swear i hate this stock crossmember! This thing has been nothing but a straight headache!
it makes it a pain but theres plenty of boosted DA’s…theres away around it
Use proper line if you do it taht way. I’m using Aeroquips rubber fuel/oil/water hosing. withstands over 250PSI and some stupid high temp. I’ve always been using this kind. works great.
Aeroquips rubber fuel/oil/water hosing
where did u buy it from?
Wow, great link…added to my favorites. Thanks Tch
thanks for the links! Im gonna try and shortin the one that i have
if that fails then i will be buying one of those.
