MotoIQ is running an article about proper suspension setup.
Go to page 2 if its not on it already and scroll 1/4 of the way down
LOL hellaflush yo!
lol tbh it’s speaking truth. I doubt rexone does it for teh trackz. just for the looks.
hella flush people along with those running RWD stagger on a FWD.
fuckin sue them assholes, youre cars hella legit
Sue them for what? Giving their opinion? Really?
i know im going to catch shit for this, but the article is right. with crazy offests and tire stretch, youre defeating the whole purpose of the performance wheel and tire. hellaflush may look cool, but its hellafuckin gay and actually degrades the performance you could have if you sized things properly. not to say that a car that was built just to look good isnt doing its job right, but when i see cars like that actually trying to drive hard, it makes me laugh, especially when im right behind them with a mostly factory suspension.
but, to some people looking cool is more important i guess.
Fixed. Hellaflush is just stupid… just as stupid as all the kids that ran out around 1999 and painted their cars baby blue of pastel pink… this fad will pass in time (thank god!) and these people will be back to being the outcasts…

I understand what you’re saying, but why does every car have to be performance oriented? Why can’t you have a car that is aesthetically pleasing and not have to worry about it’s performance on the track? I love the stance of that car. It looks gorgeous. It probably handles piss poorly on a track, but it looks cool.
To be honest I think rexones car looks sexy regardless or handling I think we all know you go that low it’s not meant for the track but still looks sexy
As for the bike rack thing, while I’m not a huge fan you can’t really knock him for not having a bike on the rack while it’s parked in his drive way lol who’s to say he doesn’t go biking every day but just didn’t have it on the rack at the time of the photo
yeah. it does. making all of the reasons not to do it totally irrelevant. its just like every other trend, the majority of people that attempt it go way overboard and make it look terrible so when you come across a car that actually does it right you dont even know it and totally dismiss it as being gay. my friend has been into it for about 3 years now on lexus ls400, he has had 2 and his last one was stanced absolutely perfect.i hated on him over it for a while until i saw him do it right, then it all made sense. my current room mate bought that car so i get to see it everyday now. hate all you want for it “ruining the performance” not everyone cares. if you dont race your car, who cares how it performs while you drive it the speed limit all the way to work?

par for the course with MotoIQ, thats the way it goes sometimes with free to read internet blogs, you get a lot of subjective opinion and sensationalism to get the point across.
but really, ive seen people with hatchbacks and BMX bikes up on a rack and the back area is empty. the bike could have fit in the back, especially since its a smaller bike. or the best is the snowboard or skateboard on the rack, i mean come on, its not much more than a plank.
but, it looks cool.
like i said, i feel that if its sole purpose is to look cool to the owner, more power to them. just look cool though, dont try to be cool.
Too bad that site is speaking the truth, all this crazy offsets on FWD=useless…
Or people could build their cars how they want to and stop bitching about what other people do to their own cars with their own money. If you don’t like then don’t do it, it’s that easy lol. Bitching about it won’t make it stop
no doubt!

have you ever tried to put a snowboard in a compact car? how about 2? or for heavens sake 3?! snowboards are huge and unless you ride alone its probably not gonna fit in your car with other people in it. snowboard racks are awesome, i wish i had one. whoever rides in teh back with all 3 snowboards is in for a very uncomfortable 3 hour long trip to the hill when we ride. skateboards i agree with, not needed but looks sweet

Agreed. I have a DB1 and getting my snowboard and friend’s snowboards in the trunk is impossible, especially with my rear strut bar and sub in the trunk. I can only imagine how they would fit in a DA.
But on topic, I like to say, low & slow with some go. I love slammed cars, especially our tegs, with offset, stretched tires, some lip on the rims, etc. though it has to be done correct, look classy and have some function to it. But when you’re slamming a car where is the functionality in it?
rexone i love your db1, ish is legit!
I actually plan on doing this to my DB1, but as hb420 said let people build their own cars.
This truly is a conundrum because you have to wonder why do we build our cars like this? Surely not for the owner’s sole enjoyment.
Why do people have picture threads? Because they want people to care how their cars look. If Rexone didnt care what people thought about his car he wouldnt post pictures.
Now the people looking at these pictures are coming to realize a trend has gone too far.
Not making any judgments about “hella flush” cars, but I do have a problem with RWD stagger on FWD. I dislike that the most cause it’s blatantly meant to look like something it’s not.
agreed…this is what i think…and only what i think…if your gonna slam a car why put 1000-1500 coilovers on it with the sway bar and braces and other 20-30 suspension things lol…why not just slam it on some POS suspension thats sole purpose is not give a shit about handling characteristics but just to slam it…and I agree some lip is fine SOME…not like rolled and pulled fenders on a FWD thats a bit outrageous…now if you roll it to fit bigger tires and stuff for track understandable…for example one of the guys from phaze2 the red EG has 15x9.5 inch BBS RS wheels with +6 or +7 offset in the back i mean why lol…its not meant for it dont do it…but i guess like everyone said here and i agree IDC its not my car or my money so its up to the owner however they want to build it no point in arguing or talking bad about it…for reference…again im not hating its the owners car but just stating my opinion like the rest…
because thats HIS car and if someone is going to use a pic of HIS car in an article explaining how “retarded” it is, i think they should of asked for permittion. i know lots of people that dont even like little kids taking pictures of their cars. its a personal thing. but then again, you post pics on the internet at your own risk so whatev
its actually not Rexones car anymore, and before it was sold it was returned mostly to stock.
also, unless media is explicitly produced under a license, its fair game.
its not so much that the owner builds their car a certain way, its more that they use lavish, race-oriented parts on cars that just sit around and move from place to place on trailers.
like it was said, you want your car to look low, cut some lowering springs.
If you like the hella flush look, go ahead and do it. Or the VIP look, or giant wings and body kits, or whatever else you feel like doing to your car. I probably won’t dig it, but it’s your car and you can do whatever you want with it.
BUT
If you care about how fast your car is, stop looking at it and start looking at the stopwatch.
idk, its all a fashon statment really, ive been to car shows with people running like 5k worth of suspension parts and they are dumped way too low with way too much negative camber. its just personal preference, popularity, and just to say youre built. pursuit of function (good movie)
