What kinda of dyno was that on, and how much boost? I’m putting together a very similar setup in the next 2 weeks and have been wondering what kind of numbers I’ll make.
I’ll be using a custom tubular mani, 14b, dsm 450’s, walbro 190 in tank, slighly larger intercooler, and an uberdata tune.
I’d also still like to know how much boost that was and what kind of dyno it was on. Hopefully within 3 weeks I’ll have some numbers and dyno graphs to post for you guys with this setup with an unberdate tune around 10-12 psi.
Timing? Timnig is unaffected with this setup. Timing is stock or retarded how many degrees he’s raterded his base timnig at. He’s got lower HP but the size of the turbo makes some good torque at his bosot level
Went to the dyno again… Im really impressed with my self… I got rid of the FMU and the inline pump… and the injectors and got BIGGER… 550cc Injectors. Turbo Edit Chipped and remapped ECU, Apexi SAFC… 3" Downpipe…
There’s no reason that a 14b should fall off at higher rpm’s at the boost levels t hat we run. They hold til redline on the stock talons and eclipses which have a slightly larger displacement.
Regardless, those are awesome numbers and almost identical to my setup that i’m throwing in this weekend. I’ll be tuning with uberdata at ~10 psi, and also have a J&S safeguard so we can push it and get a more aggessive tune without detonation.
the complaints about the 14B aren’t about boost droppnig off up top, it’s overall power. And that was primarily on the VTEC engiesn with 8000+ redline. on a B18 they are fine
We, all i have to say about a 14b is that im happy with mine… The reason that i went with a 14b, becasue there cheap and if it ever messes up there a dime a dozen to replace… But if anyone ever plans on using one you can use the stock Eclipse Downpipe… or not on a da teg… you have to get that flange… Ill try to post some pics tonite
It’s possible to use the stock downpipe from the 14b, but you have to notch out the crossmember. I plan on doing that, even though it would probably be just as easy to buy the flange and make my own.
