RS*R Ex Mag vs. Greddy SP2

Ok, so I have read the billion threads about the difference between the two and I am really stuck about which one to buy. I live in WI and its a daily driver, and the salt can be nasty in the winter. I usually wash my car in the winter though at least once every week or two weeks at the most. I’ve read that a few people have had problems with the RS*R rusting out quickly. ??? Anyone want to confirm this for me.

I really don’t want a loud exhaust at all just something nice and quiet, and I really want the RS*R but I am worried with the winter. The Greddy SP2 isn’t much louder is it? I’m getting anxious because the original exhaust just basically fell off the other day :tsk: and its loud as hell. Just any opinions on what you guys think would be best. Thanks!!!

my girl has the rsr exmag gtII which is way loud compared to the reg exmag. she has had it for a year and no rust, but we live in san diego and don’t have salt on the road.
the only thing i have heard about the sp2 is it is really quiet and deep sound

Just go with what you think looks better I guess, either way you will be spending a shitload of money and you’re going to get every dollars worth. PERSONALLY, I would go with the RSR because IMO they are a bit more rare and are cooler for integras. But, I won’t hate you if you get the Greddy (you bastard!)

with the amount of salt they put on these roads bro…id go with the greddy

Thanks for the replies guys! I suck at making decisions. :salute:

I think I am going to go with the Greddy, since the salt, and the fact that I can’t really find an RS*R thats not on backorder. I can get a Greddy SP2 for $510 shipped so no more rusty ass exhaust.

The exhaust Tip is the only part made of SS on the RS*R exhaust :bs:

well if you research the entier rsr exhaust is made from a lower grade (if i remember) 303 stainless steel… and the greddy is entirely made of 604 (again, if i remember) stainless steel… the rsr’s 303 is not as tough against rust and stuff then the 604 on the greddy.

and the black paint from the exmag likes to chip off after a year or so… especially if you live where it snows. a friend of mine has it on his EG and he’s only had it for a year and a half and a lot of the paint chipped off. ill probably still get the RSR exhaust though because my brother has the SP2 and it’s loud.

does any 1 have a sound clip of these 2 exahusts?

ya SOUND CLIP of the SP2?? anyone

the greddy use to have the rusting problem but they just recently changes the whole system to full stainless so make sure ur not getting a older version that sint full stainless. Also the RSR GTII piping DOES NOT follow stock piping route so its smoother but hangs way low so if ur lowwered ull scrape bad, thats y i went custom with a Megan Racing which i had on my old car and i love the sound. I heard a G2 with a HKS on it and :vomit: wow its raspy i love mine has a totlay diff sound than most other Hondas/Acuras

seriously tho i kno people have given reviews and what not on these cat back exahusts but it would be really sweet to hear both of them.

teamintegra.com or try google.com - integra exhaust sound clip

I know that this subject has been beat to shreads, but i too find myself in this predicament. Can’t decide - Love the look of the RSR ExMag, but ppl say that it’s really quiet, just like stock unless you go WOT. Want Greddy Sp2, but then some say it’s too loud for them or too deep. So I was wondering if someone with the RSR ExMag could compare it to what stock sounds like, which is nothing. I just want to know if it’ll be even remotely noticable from the stock exhaust w/out WOT. And if someone could do the same for the Greddy Sp2, I would be so greatful and I could finally decide on which one & put this wretched debate for myself to rest. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and i do have a Greddy 4-2-1 header on…just for reference in potential sound.

okay, here’s a clip we made of a buddy’s teg with the RS*R.

the quality isnt the greatest as there’s popping noises from the transfering the audio, but you can get a decent idea.

Sound Clip

damn sounds really nice, now how about a clip of the greddy sp-2 for a comparrison

I have a apexi WS and it is just as quiet till opened up (6K and above) I love it and it is made of 606 SS. I would have gotten the RSR but the winters around here + the salt are harsh.

anyone know where i can find one of these Greddy SP2 systems for sale? i really need an exhaust system, mine is falling apart, and i hate ebay so im not looking there…anyone know of any good sites? thanks

Thanks tribb333, that helps a bit. I just don’t like the idea of purchasing a new catback if it sounds just like the stock one that is working just fine, but yeah thanks for the sound clip greatly appreciated and im that much closer to deciding. Does anyone know if the RS*R Exmag is still on back order? or if it’s available and ready to go from some company somewhere?

BTW does anyone else think that the Greddy Sp2 tip is way too big and sticks out from bumper too much? I know this sounds stupid, but I’m worried that crazy ppl will stick something in there.

I am in the same predicament. But i’m probably going to go with the sp2 to go along with my greddy header.
