Does any one here have a sound clip of a RS*R Exmag

my greddy sp2
Well I Emailed rs*r and they told me they now have the exmag’s in stock and ready to ship and is all sainless steel. Just a thought as you guys were saying the rsr will rust:)
What else is on that exhaust setup, T3ggythang? It sounds just like my Greddy SP2; but added to that is a AEM cold air, Megan header, & homemade test pipe. (hollow cat)
:getsome: :manual:
do you need an extension on the SP2? i have a 92 and am about to order the SP2. if it does need one and i dont get the extension, will it fit at all? or does it come with it when purchased? confused. i thought the rsr was pretty much the only exhaust that needed that stupid little extension piece. after listening to enough clips of rs-r’s and sp2’s, i’ve made up my mind on the sp2. not discounting the rsr, but out of sound preferrence, i’m going with the sp2. thanks for the help.
Yes, the SP2 has the little 4’’ extension piece. It’s no biggie though. The exhaust fits great. mine’s a 93 BTW.
Does the RS*R come with the extenion peice? And how loud would you guys say this exhaust is at WOT? really want to know before buying!
is it included in the purchase? or do i have to buy it seperately? mine is a 92, so i’m assuming it would be the same as your 93. if i have to buy it seperately, i’ll just have the shop that installs it cut a section of the pipe, and add about 2-3" to it and weld it back together. damn, i hate having “engineer” shit to make it fit.
It all comes together. Greddy kits are 100% complete. Easy as hell to install. The hardest part is getting your old exhaust off. I did mine w/ a friend in about 1 hour, cause my stock exhaust is a bitch.
:getsome: :manual:
yes the RSR has the extension piece if it’s for a 92-93. The 90-91 doesn’t need it.
here’s my GS-R with an RS-R http://youtube.com/watch?v=W5cr49ma54I
fortunately, i’ve had my exhaust off on two seperate occasions in the last year, and it wasn’t terribly hard to remove it  so perhaps i’ll have a nice and simple 45 minute install :ohyeah:
Only tough part with the RS-R is figuring out which way the extension piece fits. Best way to be sure is to compare the old exhaust next to the new one to see how the angle is.
Anyone know where the cheapest place is to buy the rsr exmag?
almost the same setup…aem intake, dc header
h93
I really want the Exmag, but if it sounds too much like stock, i might as well keep my stock exhaust lol and get some piping
go with the greddy. btw, how’s brian doing (92 Teg RS)? haven’t heard from him in a while.
I installed an Exmag on my 93 GS-R yesterday and here is what I’ve noticed:
- The fit and finish is excellent, welds look awesome and the whole piece looks well engineered
- The sound is a little deeper at idle and under low throttle but when you go WOT it’s quiet
- I cannot beleive that quietness at high RPM. It has a nice refined sound and it’s apprieciated since I’m not a 16 year old looking for a loud exhuast
- The gains were quite impressive for just a cat-back, the engine revs to redline with ease and 3rd and 4th gear have really come alive.
DO NOT buy this if you are looking for a loud exhaust because it will dissapoint but I could not be happier with my choice. I used the extension piece and everything lines up nice.
imcnblu…did you order then greddy yet? and he checks out g2ic, but doesnt post too much.
IsleLS. Is there any way you can make a sound clip? I like the fact that its quiet at idle, and just driving at 40 MPH i dont want it that loud, just some what noticeable. On a scale of 1-10 how loud what you rate this exhaust while driving and at wot?
not yet, i ran into some financial issues (having a 4 month old daughter, those things happen lol. she comes first) but i have a bangin ass paycheck comin my way tomorrow, and its going to give me MORE than enough to order it. so hopefully, it gets ordered tomorrow afternoon or saturday.
Tell brian to hit me up on myspace, if he uses that anymore. if you have one, feel free to add
