S-AFC II with DSM 450s?

Hey guys,

I’ve been a visitor to G2IC for a long time all the way from Australia but I’ve never posted on here before. And I must say it has been very helpful. Last night some F$%K stole both my front and rear Honda badges when it was parked out front of my cousin’s factory when I was picking up my turbo. (Garrett T28)

I’m about to embark on boosting my 1990LS using the 'AFC-HACK" for fuel management. I’ve got a set of DSM 450CC BLUE TOP injectors that I got off eBay and I’m just trying to find out whether the S-AFC II is compatible or do I have to get the first version of the AFC in order for this method to work.

Also in regards to ignition timing, in particular retard under boost, I’m thinking of getting an MSD Universal BTM.

I’ve read and re-read Haberdasher’s G2IC Turbo install guide and I must say it has been very helpful… But it has left me with so many more questions! Ahh the beauty of modifying your own car…

Just want to know if it’s ok to get an S-AFC II and also whether I will need to upgrade my fuel pump in order for the AFC HACK to work. According to the guide, I should do this and it makes sense but I just wanted to know if it will work without upgrading the fuel pump.

Thanks heaps in advance for any help you can give me, and I sincerely appologize if I haven’t searched thoroughly enough.

Mark

Why why why :bang:

Yes you can use the AFC 2…and the BTM will do little to nothing to control the timing advance the AFC creates…

Look into TurboEdit my friend…I’ll even ship you the chipping kit for your ECU to Australia for only an extra $2!

Listen to Him …Uber Data Saved me MAD DOLLARS and I still Have More Tunability Then my homeboy with Hondata, plus with a Rom Emulator, wide band o2 and a direct interface to my laptop…the road behind my house has now become my Dyno

go to his site and read ,read ,read

i have a question. How do you get turboedit on a vehicle when you have no one locally to tune it??? everyone is like “use turbo edit”, but fail to realize that everyone doesnt have access to it or cant DIY??

I know. i posted for some help on my afc hack and didnt get any help either. just Get “uber turbo chrome edit ghetto chip”. I even explained i have no one hear to tune it and i got, “why waste your money blah blah blah”. for the price you pay for a afc you can get blah blah blah. Just help people. he wants to use the hack. im running 7 psi with no problems, so f*ck all your stupid chips that you need tuned on a dyno with a wideband which costs way more than a used afc last time i checked.

I dont seem to understand why the BTM wont control timing over the ECU. It goes in after the ECU. Yes, you will still advanced before the BTM see’s it, but the BTM can retard 3 degrees per pound. So I don’t understand how that wont work. I’m curious about this, so don’t give me a bunch of stupid comments back, I would like someone to actually tell me why. Thanks.

How are you tuning your afc without a wideband and somebody to tune it? And my car is tuned fine without dyno time. All I have invested in tuning is ~$25 for a chipping kit or whatever it costs.

the afc is no different. you still wont have anyone to tune it. you still wont have access to a dyno. i’m assuming you will just ‘copy’ settings from someone else on the afc? you can do the same with turboedit0r. people have tuned maps you can use.

yes a btm will help the afc’s shortcomings. yes turboedit is still better and cheaper.

sell the afc/btm and use the money to get a wideband. they’re pretty affordable now, 200bucks or so.
