anyone ever buy this kit? seems like a great kit. any cons?
ssautochrome makes complete trash, dont waste your money, there is several threads on here and honda-tech about them
First: Don’t completly listen to others (some people are reliable), they like to jump on the bandwagon. Most (not all) of the people that trash ssac are people that only read articles and have never experienced the brand themselves.
Second: Dont trash ssac because of what people say. There have been success stories about them also. Its not the best quality, but its ok. I have had nothing but good luck with them. And thats with the manifold and turbo on an eclipse (20 psi), 240 (14 psi), and my integra (9 psi). Some of thier manifolds come pre-braced. They use a thin material to make the manifolds so make sure you get one that is already braced, or do it yourself.
Third: I’m not a big fan of thier wastegates. Had to replace thier wastegates on all 3 vehicles with authentic ones because of flaws in design.
Best advice in the world DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR PARTS OFF EBAY unless you are 1000% sure that is the official part. I blow the doors off every ebay racer out there. I look for the dull stainless steel muffler and the crappy sound it makes and they look over trying to race. I tap the gas and can catch up with their crap cars
its crap crap crap!!! for the same amount you could a real kit used that would be my advice if thats what you are looking to spend
man…just wait and save your money please save yourself the headache no offense to blazinteg but do you really want under your hood to look like this??? http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138903 i bought an ssautoshit manifold and im now regreting it http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139386 go on honda-tech piece your turbo kit together in their marketplace with the sponsors you can get yourself a nice setup with fuel mgmt for around $1800 dont buy used shit except for your turbo i recommend going to your local junkyards and tracking down a nice condition T3 you can pickem up all day long for $100-$200 and thats all youll need. ill tell you from experience … PATIENCE my friend
