SC turbo too much?

im trying to plan out my turbo kit that i want to piece together. Im gonna use a Ram horn manifold but dont know from which compnay. My major concern right now is the turbo itself. My motor is a B18A and it will stay non-vtec, im pulling the head tomarrow and will problly end up taking the motor out. While its out Ill get eagle rods w/ ARP bolts and do bearings, are GSR bearing better than LS? I see alot of people renotching rods to fit them. As for the turbo, the T3/T4 is the choice of many and I know that the SC61 is the same but with a reworked housing. Iv been looking at compressor maps but Im not exactly sure on how to read them. My redline will problly stay about the same since the LS R/S ratio is so high. What is a recomended turbo? Car is manily used as a daily driver but it is also raced at the local drag strip, so I want something that will do well around town but still lay it down at the track. Thanks so much!!

You would be very happy with a 50 trim T3/T4 Garrett (or equiv) turbo. The 57 trim are a touch laggy and the SC61 would be way laggy.

ok, thanks, if I did raise the redline in the future would the 50 trim be able to hold boost higher or is it a good stock redline turbo?

SC61 is way too large IMO. There are many SC series turbos from Precision, I ran a SC34 on my old B16 and I loved it.

i run a sc61 all day, i start spooling at 3k rpm. i think it’s a decent size turbo
