Anyone thinking of getting one of these when they come out? if i can fit, I’m definetiley gonna snag one of these.
scion, no, because it’s a fucking scion.
subaru, no, because they support HSUS and Sierra Club (and before you flame me for that statement, read up on what BOTH are ACTUALLY about, not their press releases, and you’ll understand why i say that).
^^^Anywaysss…I would definitely buy a toyota FRS…I think its a badass car not to mention an awesome car at an affordable price…while all other auto manufacturers are getting ahead I am sad to say Honda is just making pure junk that is not fun to drive, boring looking and mostly all of them look ugly…
It looks good to me. Cheap FR car regardless if it’s scion. It’s still Toyota, but with a Subaru power plant which I don’t understand though. Would of been better with a Toyota/Yamaha engine.
wow, a whole 151 pound-feet of torque!
they finally broke through the lug nut barrier!
their focus was low center of gravity, only a boxer engine could help with that.
all the reviews of it so far are positive. It’s not immensely powerful but it’s set up in a way to allow the rear end to slide out if you want it to (tires are on the narrow side and arent very grippy).
If they come out with a model with more than 300 HP / 275 lb-ft I’d consider the Subaru.
I hear an STi (turbo) version is set to come out next year.

Hayyy, my GSR only has 192wtq and still manages mid 12’s D:
I think this is something I’d actually be interested in buying as far as today’s standards and being brand new. It’s not a hybrid and will be fairly affordable. Not everyone can afford a 370Z or any other $30k+ car.
Understandably. Drugs are expensive, so cheaper cars are mandatory.
Of course, one would HAVE to do a lot of drugs in order to WANT to own/drive a Scion.
I don’t do drugs. I’m just broke and living in a urban poverty stricken neighborhood, aka “the ghetto” as you people call it who don’t live in these low income areas/housing dwellings. Therefore, any car over $30k would be definitely out of reach.
lol ignorance is bliss…thats all i gotta say.
“You people”?
I was going to offer actual advice on good quality, cheap-to-insure, fuel-efficient, SAFE cars for WELL under $30k, but since you’re a bigoted asshole, figure it out for yourself. Or buy a scion instead and solidify your homosexuality for a good long time.
I can gladly search for myself. And, lol@me for being the asshole coming from the armedferret.
You didn’t come from me. I pulled out and splooged up your mother’s nose.
one of my soldiers has been saving up most of the deployment to get either one when we come back and they are released. and he has been doin alot of research on the car. I didnt know subaru was making the BRZ cause when i read car and driver awhile back it didnt mention it, only saw that Scion was gonna be making the FRS. and in the article it mentioned that toyota was going to use the boxer motor for the lower center of gravity. seems kinda like subaru wanted a piece of the pie with the car and designed there own around the same base. i think i would go with the FRS, seems kinda like the subaru is just the name brand and scion is generic. if anyones got other info, please share
lol, toyota’s trick worked. Subaru actually did most of the engineering on the car. Toyota only did the styling/exterior. You would be driving a subaru engineered car, manufactured in subaru’s plant in japan.
Get the subaru in the US, and give credit where it’s due. Headlights and center stack look better in the suby anyway.
edit: Subaru manufactures all variants: Toyota, Scion, and Subaru. You’re buying a Subaru car with Toyota sheet metal. You could say Toyota “wanted a piece of the pie” and threw their body on it.
pretty good trick, showed it off first and only gave credit to subaru for the engine. wowza opend my eyes lol thanks for the good info
Toyota owns 16% of Subaru…
if the STI model comes out and it’s similar to what all the rumors say, I might have to pick one up. I wasn’t thrilled with the 250hp their saying it will have, but at a projected 2500 lbs, it should have the same power to weight ratio as a 370Z, and close to a new camaro SS pushing 426 HP. Who knows, with all the designing they’ve done to keep the COG low and efficiently get the power down, it might be faster than the SS.
