i talked to my mangaer at NAPA, and he said that ALL NAPA stores are linked togther thru the computer network and that they should be able to order it from a US location. It’s not a PART, so they cant search under parts in the computer, but most will have an accesories or products paper catolog in which u can get a part number.
hey INeedBoost it would be great if you can get me the name of the catalog u guys use and the part number from your store then i could just give them that to look for it since their all linked together cause these guys at my napa don’t know what i’m talking about please and thanxs man
thought id bump this back up…
I just bought a can of this, and was wondering where the best and easiest place to put it in at? should I use the brake booster line, or a vaccum hose, if so which one? thanks…
Big-ass thread on H-T with how-to, pics & testimonials … I just used the whole bottle in the brake booster, and a can of Deep Creep in the IM through the throttle body … Don’t forget to spray the deep creep into the two holes right before the butterfly valve as well, that 7 let it sit for like an hour instead of the 15 minutes … My engine is running better than ever since the treatment !!!
Also, you MUST take a “spirited” drive until the smoke dissapears, don’t just sit there & rev the engine, have fun unleashing the smokescreen on your neighborhood !!!
Just did Seafoam on my '91. There was a modest amount of smoke, but nothing too extreme. I used 1/3 pint in the brake booster line, per instructions. I then used the remaining 2/3 in the crankcase, and performed my ‘spirited drive’.
I then changed my oil, using my standard Mobil1 Full Synthetic oil and K&N Gold oil filter.
Then, I added half a pint of a second can of Seafoam to my fuel tank.
Already, the car runs noticeably smoother, and seems to be somewhat more responsive, although it’s not a huge difference.
Bottom line: I’m a happy Seafoam customer.
i should do it just to see how the exhaust exits the car and if i have any leaks. getting nauseous…
i just bought some on my lunch break. i cant wait to get home and try it! i got the only 2 bottles on the shelf hehe
do i pour the seafoam into the hose running to the intake manifold or master cylinder? after the hose is seperated of course.
The hose should be sucking air correct?
Just ran 1/3 pint through the intake manifold, and a halp pint in the gas tank and another in the crankcase. I felt a little difference, actually seemed to idle lower. Ill get a better idea of the results tommorow.
well im a happy customer  ive got a smoother idle and its pretty much smoother throughout the whole rpm range all the way to 8K. i slowly poured half the bottle in the brake booster line, waited 5min, and smoked out all my rich uptight faggity neighbors. it was great im glad i got to piss them off and im doin my brothers car today haha
sea foamed my car
I sea foamed my car the other day as well. I picked it up at a local auto parts store by me, but Napa as well as National Auto and Car Quest both carry the product. I poured in a little bit more than 1/3 of the can and then let it sit for 5 minutes. When I started it up, man was the car smoking. I have a 93 ls-s with 187,000 miles on her. After about 10minutes or so, things cleared up. I put the rest of the stuff into the gas tank and today while driving my car, I can feel the difference. It’s smoother and feels like it has a bit more hp. If you guys are thinking of doing it, don’t hesitate, just follow the instructions and don’t over do it.
Just got a chance to really get on it and the seafoam works excellent. It didnt fix my idle problem but i felt a significant improvement in throttle response. My car felt quicker than its ever felt in the 2 1/2 years ive owned it.
im very impressed with the results
Hey guys can you please call napa and ask them for their product number and serial number for sea foam i’m trying to get this product in canada and not having any luck with napa in canada but i’m sure they can order it from the u.s store thanxs
Are there no Piston Ring or Auto Value stores in ontario? There are 3 or 4 of them here in Winnipeg I think. I just saw Seafoam at the one on Pembina yesterday…
From my NAPA receipt:
Part Number: SF-16
Line: SF
Description:Motor Tun
I used it, and im quite impressed. Its smoother to the limiter. I dont know why my Intake seems louder also. My car is very responsive and just seems quicker. It was funny to see the smoke every where and people staring at me like i had something wrong with my car. I say give it a try. I put it in my brake booster cable, Gas tank and Crankcase. Changed my oil, and spark plugs. Its so smooth. :burnout:
This is quite an old thead but I have a question. After reading hundreds of posts about seafoam im still kinda sketchy about its affects on older engines. Having purchased my car second hand I dont know what type of services it went through. It makes sense that if you break up all the carbon at the same time it could cause probelms. Has anyone here had this happen? No my friends friend stories just pure experience. Im getting up to 100,000 mi ive done carb cleaner and the likes myself, no problems. Im thinking: 1/3 vaccum to IM, 1/3 crankcase, 1/3 gas tank. High milage users and problems? TIA
i have 165K on mines and i tried it recently…havent changed my oil or spark plugs yet…i will soon though…so far, the engine does drive smoother…mainly in high gear… hopefully after my tune up…it will feel fresh=)…i have plans to do it one more time…not sure if its a good idea…any thoughts about a secong time around for seafoam???
i had almost 120k when i ran the seafoam thru the crankcase, fuel tank, and intake maniflold and i havent had any problems.
Im about to run a little more thru soon and then go for an oil change.
Try it out, you wont regret it.
