Seafoam

Has anybody ever used BG induction system cleaner?

I still dont get this:

I have 156k on the car and is sketchy on how to do this.

Please give me step by step with pics pls on how to do this. this is my only car and i dont want to kill it.

Thanks.

Just another testimonial to Sea Foam. I used it today, poured 1/3 can in the vacume hose, 1/3 in crankcase, and rest in gas tank. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then went on a “spirited drive” and now my idle is much smoother and I’m feeling a good bit more response.

Sea Foam gets an A+ in my book

I’ve used seafoam in my previous car, but with my teg I was kinda skeptical. Anyway I decided to do 1/3 in each of the three, put it in, let it die, waited, then started up and went riding. Felt kinda sorry for the car behind me but they were following too close anyway. After, I did notice a much smoother idle, smoother throttle engagement and respones. Overall pretty damn good for $5. Seafoam =

i also recently did the sea foam treatment, but while i was putting 1/3 of the stuff thru the brake booster line, lots of white gas came out of the back side of the engine. (like from under the intake manifold). i’m not sure if this was supposed to happen, and i’m guessing i have an exhaust leak somewhere, but im not sure.

did this happen to any of you guys who tried this stuff?
would this be a big problem?

i have a 93 LS teg with about 175k miles on it.

any help or insight would be appreciated.

oh, and by the way, after the treatment my car did seem to idle a bit smoother and run smoother too.

was the white gas the same thing that came out your tailpipe? if so, then yes, you have an exhaust leak

whats a similar product that i may be able to get world wide?

you can probably just order some from seafoam online if you cant find any in your local auto parts store…

if you have high mileage is it safe just to put the seafoam in booster line and gas tank and not crankcase so u dont mess up the the engine?

i dont think you’re suppose to put it in the gas tank. i could be wrong, but i thought it only went in the block /w the pistons.

yes you can put it in the gas tank. its kind of like that fuel injector cleaner. just put 1/3 in each - brake booster line, gas tank, and crank case. its safe dood ive done it 3 times already and no negative effects

how many miles do u have on ur car? i thought putting it in high mileage cars might make the headgasket blow which i dont have money to fix if that happens. thats why i asked is it just safe to put in booster line and gas tank.?

if you look back in this thread, there are several people with high miles who’ve done it with no problems

I’ve got 122k and I had no problems when I did it either

if your car is in good running condition, theres no reason sea foam alone would blow a head gasket
I’ve heard of one guy at honda-tech who said seafoam fucked up his car, but it was most likely just a coincidence

also, you can go to honda-tech or team-integra.net and hear more ppl talk about this product
