Everything is longer than a GS-R YS1…EVERYTHING.
even junkman johnny’s wang. and that’s saying a lot. :giggle:
Here read this post it may answer your questions

Ok, I figured it out…
there’s this website http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears/index.php
but some of their gear ratios are wrong, like for the 90-93 ls,rs,gs trannies
so there’s this website for the gear ratios…
http://www.allmotorhonda.com/techpages/B-series_Tranny_specs.htm
plug those in…
then in the “Max RPM” part of webpage of the first link I posted, you put like, 3000 RPm or any other rpm you want, and it will tell you the speed for that rpm, for any tranny, you could use their database of trannies or you can plug in your own. That’s what I did because they gear ratios are off a little for the 90-93 YS1 long gears.
of course I could be wrong about the final drive of the YS1 long gear, the first website says it has a 4.2 final drive, but the second one says 4.4, i’m not too sure, but I’m thinking 4.4 since all b-series cable tranny have it except the Y1 which has 4.2 final drive from the JDM civic sir/crx.
This is for a YS1 long gear tranny 5th gear
1500 rpm ~31-33mph
2000 rpm ~41-43mph
3000 rpm ~ 62-64mph
4000 rpm ~ 83-85mph
5000 rpm ~ 103-105mph
Not bad compared to the 94+ LS tranny 5th gear
1500 rpm ~ 33-35mph
2000 rpm ~ 44-46mph
3000 rpm ~ 67-69mph
4000 rpm ~ 89-91mph
5000 rpm ~ 111-113mph
Then compared to a 94+ GSR tranny 5th gear
1500 rpm ~ 29-31mph
2000 rpm ~ 39-41mph
3000 rpm ~ 59-61mph
4000 rpm ~ 78-80mph
5000 rpm ~ 98-100mph
so there’s this website for the gear ratios…

That’s the one I keep on my favorites list for reference…good stuff.
True speeds also vary according to tire diameter of course, but your speedo doesn’t realize that as it’s programmed for stock size tires. You can work the figures from the tires back to the engine… here’s an example using my setup, a hydro GSR tranny with 205/40R17:
Overall tire diameter= 23.4"
Circumference (diam X 3.14)= 73.5" (6.12’)
Revolutions per mile (5276/circ)= approx. 865
865 X 4.4 final drive X .787 fifth gear = 2995 engine rpm @ 60mph
This way gives you exact figures for yoru setup rather than calculating by comparing speedo to tach, since one or both of them isn’t always totally accurate.
Yes and no.
