should i connect this vacuum line back?

a friend of mine just turbo’d his car and he was asking me about the vacuum line that goes from the top of the head into the intake arm and i cant give him an answer if he should connect it or not

so my quetion is should he connect the line back into the intake arm?

just so u know the car is running on 10psi and he has a catch can connected to the valve cover

ttt

No!

can i ask why?

you’ll be pressurizing the crankcase which is very bad. what you really want to do is the opposite and relieve all the pressure possible aka a vented catch can.

Vent to atmosphere is fine also

Venting to the atmosphere is not always the best idea. It can spew a small mist of oil into the engine bay. It gets kinda nasty after a while. And like already stated, crankcase pressure is bad.

Connect the catch can FTW, its the best solution since he already owns one. Be sure to drain it every time you change the oil, it can build up in there.

cool thanks guys

use a catchcan and check valve or have it got exhu jegs or some one has sells the part to connect it to the exh so it still pulls vacuum under normal drivign which is like 98% of ur driving. other wise with ot the vacuum pull on the crank case it will have to much pressure in the case on ur rings and were out the enigne in like 8k miles
