i have jdm one piece headlights and the corner lights are constants (parking lights) so i also got the sidemarkers to make them the turn signals, but how do I wire it so that the sidemarker can have a low beam (parking lights on) and a high beam for the blinkers? most people just make the side markers the USDM’s turn signals but i want them to also be a constant parking light when the headlights are on. how can i wire it to do this? what do i need to buy? thank you. sorry if this is a little hard to understand
if you want them to blink you connect them to your bumper lenses. if you want them to stay on all the time (which is gay and not what they’re for) you wire them to your corners lights, which dont blink if they’re hooked up properly. remember that sidemarkers are turn signals and use them for their intended purpose. having them on constantly serves zero purpose.
i want them to be on constantly and also be a turn signal so tehy stay on AND blink… (dual filament bulbs???) i need help
yeah im not sure if that’s possible. that means you would have to run them to your corner lights and your bumper lights but how do you plan on connecting them without messing up your wiring? maybe someone else can explain this because now im curious.
actually imma use the corner turn signal which i let hang from installing the jdm headlights… and imma tap into the power from the parking lights… im just not sure how to connect these 2 power sources into one bulb without blowing a fuse or blowing my bulbs. i had once heard of dual filament bulbs before but im not sure how to use this… and my turn signals blink FAST, how do i get them to blink back to OEM status?
our turn signals blink fast when we have a light that is disconnected or burnt out. check to make sure everything is working properly
so if you have the USDM harness this should be no problem. just take the turn signal harness that you didn’t use and splice the sidemarker wires into those wires. the reason your signals blink faster than usual is because a bulb is missing or burnt. in your case, i’m assuming you didn’t put bulbs in the turn signals that you didn’t use in your one-pieces. after wiring a bulb to those turn signal harness, that blinking problem should go away
as for blowing fuses or bulbs, i’ve had my corner signal and sidemarkers sharing the same wires with no problems at all. and the wedge bulbs that you use in the sidemarkers and corners are dual filament bulbs, meaning they can stay on and blink if wired properly.
i have USDM headlights so the way i did my sidemarkers was just splice them into the wires for the signal light in the corners. stays on and blinks no problem.
hope that helps and good luck
oh yeah, about dual filament bulbs
you probably heard about it from the dual filament bulb conversion for the front bumper signal lights. as you may have noticed they don’t come on like the corners do in the USDM headlights. I did that mod too, it involves taking a dual filament wiring harness from a car like a G3 integra where their bumper signal lights come on, and replacing the G2’s harness.
just FYI, looks pretty cool though
the one thing that i don’t understand about this mod is what bulb are you going to use? the 194 which is comonly in the sidemarker/parking light is a single filament bulb? why would he have to run any other wires other than the usdm harness? It is designed to be on while the parking/headlights are on and blink off when the signals are activated. Would he not have to just extend the wires from his turn signal to where the side marker is located?
C
where can i get dual filament bulbs that small? i went to my local kragens and they didnt have any small dual filament bulbs. my headlights blink fast cuase i currently took out my bumper lights i guess ahah. thx for all the help guys my goal is almost acheived
they don’t make them as far as i know. Why are your headlights blinking at all? they were not designed to. .
So who here has their sidemarkers wired the correct way, where the sidemarker does not stay on and blinks with the turn signals? If I were to put sidemarkers on my car I would want them wired this way, but I don’t want fast blinkers.
How is this done? Tapping into the bumper light wires?

my bad, i don’t think i was clear enough. the bulbs for the sidemarkers are 194’s just like the signals in the corners. and you’re right, they are single filament bulbs, the way they stay on and blink is by blinking off like you said, instead of blinking back and forth between two filaments like in a dual filament bulb. as for aznboi133’s solution, he would just have to use the signal inside the corner light that isn’t used in JDM headlights and extend those two wires to the fenders.

sorry for the confusion man, stick with the 194 bulbs and you’ll be alright.

you’re right, you could splice into the wires of the bumper signal lights which don’t come on but blink. if you have JDM headlights and aren’t using the corner turn signals, doing it this way would still leave the fast blinking since that harness isn’t being used.
mine are wired the correct way
I dont think there is a correct way, just what people prefer. Some people like myself may like how they are on with the parking lights and blink with the turn signals while other may not. Its all up to you
i have mine wired the correct way. i just bought these wire connectors at Radio Shack that made it super easy. i dont know what they’re called but you put your bumper lense wire through the bottom of the connector and the wire you’re slicing into the top, squeeze a little metal thing and they are connected. the only hard part was running my wire because i was too lazy to take out my wheel liner :nana: in my face
According to the guy who put in my friends sidemarkers (bought from passwordjdm) he either had to have them be on all the time or only blink when he turns on his blinkers.
It’s not possible to have them be on then blink with the corners? Something about the filaments…
Yes, it is possible. If you have the JDM One-Piece headlights I believe if you just take the wires that went to the socket on the USDM orange, side marker (on the corner) that is unused on the JDM ones and run those to the new JDM side marker on the fender it will be on all the time whenever you have parking lights, low beams, high beams on and then blink when you signal. Right?
ok so im going to run the old USDM headlight turn signals to the sidemakers and leave the bumper turn signals where they are, now how do i wire the parking light to the sidemaker to make it stay on constantly and blink when i activate the turn signals? + to +? - to +? what color wire to what color wire?
The USDM headlight turn signal… behind the orange reflector part on the corner piece is both a “parking light” and a turn signal. It stays on when the lights (parking, low, high) are on and then blinks when you signal. If the lights are off it just blinks when you signal. Since this bulb is unused on the JDM headlights (since the JDM headlights have no turn signal) you can just extend those wires (maybe the socket too… I am not to sure about the socketing on the sidemarker) to the side marker on the fender and it will stay on and when you signal, blink (it won’t be on when your lights arent on though, only when some form of the lights are on). Atleast that’s how I understand it.
