under de-accelaration my car smokes a little. It didn’t do this before I boosted it. The smoke is blue, so are my turbo seals going out, could it be because i’m only on a base map right now, oil return some how messed up, or did I mess somthing internally up? Anyway to test and find out a spefic one?
or do you think I might just need a oil restricter?
my friend had a similiar problem and it was caused by the seals in the turbo
First, check the oil return line…make sure its not kinked and has the straightest flow possible. If thats not it, check the shaft play in your turbo, if it has excessive play, chances are its your seals and your turbo needs a rebuild. If its neither, then try an oil feed line restrictor.
I know the oil return is fine, and the turbo does have shaft play. but I dont think its exessive. it wont hit the housing at all and I cant pull it in and out at all. I was thinking about getting a stealthmode oil restricter but how does it work? it looks like you can just turn it to increase/decrease oil pressure, but how do I know when its enoughf? I figure I might as well spend the $20 for the restricter, than spend the $200 for a rebuild then have it turn out it was to much oil pressure.
Smoke on de-acceleration usually means piston rings
ya, but compresstion is fine and its pulling over 20in of vaccum so I dought its the rings. I’m going to sending my turbo in to blasst performance. Anyone use them before?
good luck
