I am really amazed by how fresh these engines are looking. They are from hmotorsonline.com . Those folks over there are great. It took slightly longer then expected to get here but it was all because of the weather.
Does anyone know the compression ratio on those JDM B20b? I got one with the tall manifold and the short one on the other. I hear this short manifold is better than the stock 90 to 91 manifold so I think that B20 is goin into my coupe.
This might be rediculous but I am hearing you guys are having traction problem with these motors alone. These motor can’t have that much more torque than the B18… or can it?
hey… sorry to be off topic, but i’m thinking about ordering a b16a1 through hmotorsonline… how long did it take for you to get your motor from them? how much did you pay for shipping. And hearing that they’re great people there is a real good thing to hear seeing i plan on doing business with them

LSD in your tranny would help with the traction control, but that like almost another grand for the LSD. But well worth it imo.
Many have said to “feather” the clutch to get the best results with the b20 in a G2.
One more month and mine is IN! Finally after a whole friggin year of spending waaay too much money on it and waiting forever for ITR parts. [/B]
25+ ft/lbs of torque and 35+hp to the wheels…UM… sorry…but no freaking way.
The b20Z will give you those numbers, the b20b is another story. But they still give out a significant amount of power compared to the 3mm piston size difference.
I’ve seen varying b18a dyno numbers, but they are about 102-109hp and tq I’m not sure of the exact number, but around 98ft/lbs of torque.
Shenrie’s Results for his b18a engine.
101.5 hp @ 5700rpm
98.4 max torque @ 4900rpm
These are Wheel hp figures also. So about average of 106whp for the b18a and average of 138-140whp for the b20z. Do the math and it is about 35+ hp and 25+ tq. You just gotta love this engine! :inlove:
it sounds good… We will see how it goes. I am really skeptical about the tq and hp figures but I will just have to dyno it to see.
I ordered the motor last monday, it got here friday this week. so, I guess about 7 to 10 days on average for shipping. Shipping to a shop is about 175 per motor. They use Watkin frieghtline to truck it here.
I know for sure that i’m not getting much more hp with my jdm b20 in in my '90 teg. But i have stock header and exhaust which really limits it i’m sure. No dyno numbers, but i only got measly 82-83 mph trap speeds. That was with the '90 intake mani too tho…what’s the point of the extra displacment if you don’t let it breath more?

my motor came the next day after i ordered it. both actually (the b20 and b18c). it was amazing. Shipping for the b20b was $88, typer complete was $100 to my residence.
just another dyno # to compare to if you want. I’ve got a 90 GS, and I dyno’ed at 115hp / 120 torque to the wheels with AEM pulley’s, 4-1 header, axle back exaust and AEM CAI with my b18. This is with the 130 hp B18, not the 140hp later models.
I bet motor don’t run as good in “damnchinese Land”. I bet everyone that lives down south can pick up an extra 5 to 10 lb ft of tq up north like Canada.
115 hp and 120 tq at the wheel on a b18 is not going to happen down here.
i like to rev high=vtec. I know, i know :naughty: oh yeah, since when is honda supposed to have torque anyways?
i wish i had a b20 right now, but i’ll wait and go with turbo on the b16a.

Just i/e at that time. And the exhaust had 2" piping from the cat til the axle back, then the actual axle back is 2.25" (HKS sport). The intake is an AEM shortram (2.75"). Everything else was stock. Not too impressed with the numbers but the actual performance of my motor is pretty good IMO.
I have a header now and a high flow cat soon. The piping was also increased from 2 to 2.25". That’s why i wanna dyno again.
