some help you guys are

this message board sucks. kno one knows what freaking timing belt to use for a lsvtec… how do you expect to run the almighty 10 seconds with no timing belt… come on give me a freaking break…

come on man, you should have been able to get this info on your own by: trying the search function here, checking the teg tips, or just searching for “ls/vtec” on www.google.com

you need to use the b18a1 timing belt for an lsvtec. That is, unless you use vtec oil and/or water pumps (it may just be one of these that makes it different, i really don’t know —check the teg tips and search on google), then you will use a b18c1 timing belt.

how come theres mad slack in it then? im going insane.

have you used the tensioner at all?

that will usually tend to get rid of said “mad slack”

the “mad slack” is inbetween the two cam sprockets…call me a crazy looney but arnt you not suposed to turn the cam sprockets… hense… how are you suposed to get the slack out if you cant turn the cam sprockets…
i dont mean to sound like a dick but i got a 102.7 feaver and i have been with out my g2 for 4 weeks …friends wont help(dsm sucks ass)… i need my baby back…

i think you are insane. hehe

have you done this before? do you know exactly the steps required for a timing belt install?

sometimes there is “mad slack” in it w/ just tightening the belt tensioner (did you get a new one before you did the timing belt swap? it usually helps)

but what Dan (g2guru) figured out was a “makeshift” way to get the timing belt nice and tight. he fabricated a coat hanger to be able to reach down and pull up on the belt tensioner while tightening the belt tensioner some more which makes the belt nice and snug.

please don’t ask me personally for details, cause i wouldn’t be able to explain it, but maybe when Dan get’s back, he can explain it.

BTW: take a chill pill. first of all, most people don’t frequent the engine hybrids forum on a daily basis. secondly the boards are always slow on the weekends.

oh if you r asking too…that goes for you…dont worry…i undedrestand it is hard for a retarded person to speak.

for my setup i have the 94 GSR water pump, the GSR timing belt was too slack when tighten…so i got the LS timing belt for my block…and it fits perfectly…

i got to understand that the vtec to vtec rule is for the ls/vtec’s with the B16 head…mainly cuz the water pump from the B16 has 22 teeth…

for my setup…the ls water pump and gsr water pump both had 19 teeth…so i had to use the ls timing belt…

hope that answers your question…sine these clowns here aren’t helpin…

good luck
