Do u still have that turbo for sale?

no i dont sorry, i ended up selling it dirt cheap so i didnt get my insurance cut off:bang:

Ok so if some one could please answer this please.

I’m not exactly a noob when it comes to automechanics,

I have a 90 rs. JDM B16A obd0 swap.

I currently have a full ls/vtec build on the side I am selling. 200WHP N/A was just alittle too much cost wise for me. I have th e parts tho minus the pistons and tuning. Skunk2 stage2 entire valvetrain B8B bottom end etc… etc…

Well, I have decided I would like to go boost on my JDM B16A,

I know the C/R being 9.7:1 is high than liked when boosting.

But Its in the tuning.

SO I have a few questions.

I have read the entire thread, all pages.

The commen problem with these XS kits seems to be two things.

Turbo manifold cracking

And

Turbo seals blowing due to oil.

It seems if I am correct the solution to this is extreme bracing,

And an oil restrictor.

It is known to XS power their problems and as you can see in their newer model kits the manifolds have bracing. Perhaps not enuf however
They are trying, now introducing thicker pipiung for the use of the manifolds as well as bracing.

They know what they are doing wrong and at a budget are trying to slowly fix these problems.

So I want to know.

Aside from tuning on dyno, I’ll be chiping my obd0 ecu using chomepro

If I was to get one of these decent kits from ebay. for my JDM B16

ONLY boosting 6psi-8psi on a T3. Only looking for about 200WHP.

Braced the manifold and Installed and oil restrictor,

If I am correct I have a chance of having a kit that could last more than a few months.

I have access to an ls motor. I was thinking about swapping it and using the ls motor first with this ebay kit.

If I turn the boost up just to play and the ls motor blows, I dont care becuase it was my playing motor.

However, before I sell my LS/Vtec build and go boost. I just wanted to know.

Becuase I am still in High school and dont have a G to just throw around.

on the kit. Of course I’ll be spending about another 500+ in tuning etc…

Becuz IMHO tuning is Key and most vital.

:shrugs: i’m sure I made no sence but if anyone understand please respond.

thanks,

hell if the manifold is the huge problem just simply buy a nicer one.

everything else is cheap. then again, thats prolly the problem.

Next week I will finally be able to fell what the t70 is bringing to the table.

buddy going on 6 monthes with the xs power kit I sold him for his civic, it was the first kit they made , manifold weld broke so he rewelded it and braced it, been running 10lbs strong on 94 hatch with b18c1, ran 13.5 on the track with vtec turned off ( was using stock injectors duty cycle was %250, now has 450cc dsm injectors but says still having trouble supplying enough fuel )

so with vtec on now, hopeing to get high 12 or so next season.

^ did he upgrade fuelpump?

250% on the duty cycle. wouldn’t you blow your motor. i thought anything over 80% was dangerous or at least not recomended

how can you have more than 250%? 100% means the nozzle remains open iirc. maybe he means stock 240cc.

yea he changed fuel pump as well. They had the laptop hooked up to it and he said the injectors duty cycle is 250% another words its supplying 150% less fuel then needed, meaning the fuel cut off was way to soon. The injectors arent running at 250% if they could do that then why would anyone need to upgrade them ? they would be running enough fuel.

oh heh ok. thats cool that it calculates and cuts it for you. i’d be freakin out if i saw that and didn’t know what it meant.

I’m trying to put this kit on my car… but man are there a lot of pieces and I have no instructions… can someone point me in the way of instructions for this kit?..

Try: http://www.ssautochrome.com/

If there is nothing online in regards to instructions, I say try the “contact us” link at the top, and calling them.

tried that… was hoping someone would know of some instructions online… … I’ve turboed a car before… but this kit just has so many darn pieces to it… lol… lots of little stuff… =/

Just so everyone knows. We ended up getting the SSautochrome manifold on and everythnig done and working well.

Specs of everything used:
(This is all CANADIAN pricing)

B series manifold with DSM turbo flange - $175
DSM 14B - $150
DSM 450’s with resistor box - $50
DSM sidemount mounted where stock air box was with a ram air effect - $50
Misc IC piping/hoses/couplers - $100
Air filter - $25
Stealthmode oil line kit + misc - $150(I think)
Cheapo boost guage - $25
Car already had 2.5" exhaust, so just DP work - $50
Walbro 190 lph pump - $175
ECU OBD1 chip kit - $50
Tuned by me - Freebie
Car makes full boost(11psi) by about 2500-2800 depending on gear

Totalling $1000. Manifold is holding up well so far. Been about 4 months of abuse. Car makes good power and pulls to redline no problem(7200 rpm) Stock 300K motor.

Overall, it was a fun project and I’m happy with the outcome when you weigh in the costs. Customer is very happy.

with the ssautochrome kit… it comes with valve springs and retainers and cams… does the head have to be removed to install all of that?

No… you can get a kit which fills the cylinders with compressed air to keep the valves from dropping down… but that’s more of a pain then anything. So I’d say personally. yes you do have to pull it off. lol I’m iffy on using their manifold still. There is NO way I’d ever run their internals like valve train and cams and gears…

hm… would the kit be better if I left it with stock valve springs, cams, gears, and pullys… and not put all the goodies on that came with the kit?.. else what was the point of it coming with valve springs, retainers, cams, adjustable cam gears, pullys… etc… I’m looking to run a really low boost setup… nothing that the stock fuel system couldn’t handle…

honestly… I’m not sure how to hookup the pullys and the other round things nor have any idea what they do… there are like 3 round spinning wheels… and I can’t figure out their purpose

it’s this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-SERIES-KILLER-TURBO-KIT-GSR-LS-90-93-Civic-Integra_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33742QQihZ014QQitemZ330110418365QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

if anyone can give me any pointers as to what’s what… and what what’s for and such…
like I said… I’m not inexperienced… I turboed my eclipse… I built an ls/vtec motor… but all of these odd accessories and such just throw me for a loop

from where I’m at know… I do know the intake manifold… the bolt holes are either really tight or a tad bit off… I haven’t tried to put it on for good… but I did try to test fit it… it would have required a lot of force to get it on

meh… they responded back (ssautochrom/xs-power) and said if I bought the kit I should know how to put it together… ???.. I mean yes and no… they custom designed things and it’d be nice to know their plan
