how long have u had the kit typerwhite? just curious b/c planin on buying the kit in the near by future and why the 6 month garageing??
i put the kit on march this year. THis makes almost 7-8 months, no problem. The only headache was at installation, nothing fitted properly !! but really, no complain since. Been pushing 10 psi now with my own street tuned map. Just smoked a nissan maxima 3.5 on the highway !! fun as hell
ok, so i took the dive in and got me some ssac/xs-power parts. i got me a xs-power t3 turbo (yes i iknow small, but $100 new cant beat it) im also geting a ssac twisted ram manifold. i had a friend use one and made 20whp more than a high dollar log manifold. so i will see how this goes, and keep it updated. the parts are being shipped out. i dont have them yet but heres the turbo and manifold.

Even if the turbo goes bad, you can always ship it to Blaast and have them rebuild it with Garrett internals. Still comes out cheaper than buying a new T3/T4e. It seems like they have quality control issues. One turbo or manifold will last thousands of miles, and the next one won’t make it out the driveway.

yeah chris i was just going to get the t3/t4e xspower turbo but this one come up for 100 so i got it t3 but oh well. t3/t4e on its way soon.
4 Month Update

I had no idea this thread would grow to such a size, however it is a hot topic these days with Turbo Kits under 1000$ showing up.
0-4 Months:
I have to say the install sucked, but in the end it was a blast driving a turbo car (my first). Worth all the headaches. The biggest set back was hooking up the vacuum lines to the wastegate backwards that and boosting to 25psi on a stock motor (DOH!).
Anyways, after I put in another motor, dyno’d to 220 on a Mustang Dyno @10PSI of boost. It saw max boost/redline every time it started. I beat the living snot out if it. Then I found Blowby in Cylinder #4. On top of that the engine is leaking oil from some unknown place… We suspect its lifting the head. All in the day of a turbo car you build yourself I guess!
HOWEVER, on to the SSautochrome stuff, it is holding up just fine, its the Engine parts that are taking a beating. I am even using Tech2000 Oil. :D. since the engine needs replacing, I havnt even changed the oil in it. So the Turbo will see some abuse this winter, dirty oil and sucking in nice salt-misted air.
Why do this? Well, I figure why the hell not? Lets see how long it lasts. If it lasts until spring, I will build a motor and see how much pressure the thing can push after living an abusive life. If it dies, I’ll still build a motor and buy a new Turbo from them…so far its been good.
Yeah, I am asking for headaches I know, but its a project car. Dubbed Project: Ebay. Enough said.

i got my twisted ram manifold in yesterday. if anybody is wanting any pics of the manifold lmk. i will take some for you if you wanted to see the runners or anything.
20 hp gain with this is damn alot!
I just checked all the flanges on my twisted ram horn manifold, and 2 of the 3 flanges were warped pretty badly from when they welded it. I just dropped another $100 to have all three flanges resurfaced and the inside of the collector grinded smooth. I also had to run a tap through all the threads to clean them up. The manifold is beautiful now, and I am getting very close to installing it on my lsvtec… FINALLY!
well, this morning i installed my manifold and turbo, and I had to grind a HUGE chunk out of the block to make the turbo fit. Even still, it’s going to be a tight fit. I hope you others with this manifold dont have the same problems I am having.

I will be installnig a turob kit in a g2 at the end of the month for a customer with their new DSM flanged manifold. we’ll see how that goes and I’ll keep you guys updated

so how u think this would hold up only boosting like 6psi on a stock motor?
Well I gotta say, the manifold came in for the customer today. B series with a 14B DSM flange which is ncie cause that’s the turbo we are using on his LS. I can tell why these are prone to cracking. The overall manifold is way too light, walls are so thin. And all the welds don’t look to be penetrated all that well. But we did get the manifold for 175cdn shipped lmao so really, there is no complaints there. If it cracks, and can’t be fixed, we’ll just bring in another one for him cause it’s so cheap. Going to be installnig it in the next few weekends when there is shop time.

looks interesting come with almost everything??? iuono cams,camshafts,pulleys,etc. i wonder if it any good…so far after reading an ebay kit it sort of ok after u do a couple of modding and safety proof it and stuff…might last i guess…price looks good real good i guess came up to
$718=shipped…+extra parts total to probaly 1 grand.
what u think of this kit?..im asking because i planning on turboing my b18a1 rs …if not i just do a b16a xsi swap with lsd…almost 2grand plus extra stuff??..
