would like to know who you think is the best stand alone for obd1 aka crome, uberdata, neptune, turbo edit, please explaine why you feel it is the best and where i can find it thanks
Crome: what i will be running on my GSR…when its time…
Uberdata: i have ran it in the past, good stuff
TurboEdit: not for OBD1, its for OBD0…
Neptune: cost money… (not that you shouldnt donate to the PGMFI, cuz you should)
Hondata: read above
i would do a some research on PGMFI.org you will find lots of good info there (search…dont post).
another thing that you should consider: who will be tuning your car? you? someone else? if its someone else ask them what they feel comfortable with tuning. if its you, find out which one you feel most comfortable using…
I dont think I would classify Neptune as being any sort of donation to PGMFI.
Its $250 for the use of the program and whatever the tuner’s fees are…
Uberdata and TurboEdit are free.
Crome is $149 for the full pro version. There is a free version as well.
what i ment is that you should be donating to PGMFI if your using TE/Uber/Crome/etc even though they are free (excluding Crome Pro of course)…
No, you should be donating to the CREATORS of the software. The pgmfi message board didnt write all that code.
Ben
Well…thats sorta true…I mean, OBD1 wasnt taken care of soley by John Cui and Blake. Doc and Evan certainly had a LARGE hand in the beginning, Blundar has developed alot. Most of the Crome scripts that everyone takes for granted were written by PGMFI members, not John.
I understand but if pgmfi is donated to because of some software that say, John, or you, or I wrote it is not getting passed on to the code writers. All I’m saying is that if someone is donating because of piece of code they like, they should donate to the person who wrote said software. You know: if you like NG roms donate to Dave, If you like TE donate to Jason, Like BRE? donate to me, etc. I realize there are a crapload of people who helped all the people that wrote the big chunks people use (I mean shit, I still ask a lot of questions, and I didnt write 100% of the obd0 vtec code), but by finding that person and giving them your gratitude is much more efficient than just giving it to pgmfi. Sorry for the digression. I mean no harm.
Ben
more opinions needed
More research needed from you. You should find one that suits YOU and YOUR setup and not care what some other dude tells you.
Ben
ok so to use uberdata and tune properly what do i need to get started
-wideband o2
-socket my ecu for chips
-chip burner
-datalogging cable
-labtop
Exactly…you need a laptop as well of course and the knowledge to not blow your shit up
i was checking out ur website and u have some package deals for that kind of stuff maybe i will pick one up u got n e recomendations
uberdata is real easy to use, just feel it out at first on a built car with low psi…watch the wideband make a blind map that is real rich and work backwards
The package deals are really what would suit you best…if you have no tuning tools or WB, Package #2 is for you
just get package two then go right to xeno’s house. you’ll make him some power wont ya chris??
Brett
