any comments? will I need to cut more off the bumper?
How about that piece that that sticks out in this pic near the bottom of the bumper:
will it get in the way of the piping?

Looks  Ian. I am going to end up with a more sleeper route, but you may be turning up the boost a lot higher than I am.

Is it possible to put an intercooler form an eclipse in the corner where the battery and air box use to be? If so will I get as much power. I bought one from the junk yard and it fits perfectly in that corner but I dont see how air will get to it.

thanks. Lots more cutting to do as well but at least the support is cut and ready now. Really what route are you gonna go now? custom turbo setup?

I’m buying 91blueteg’s turbo setup and I’m gonna run 7psi

I’m going to go custom. I’m thinking the 7-8 psi range will be decent enough. Started the purchasing the other night, getting an Eclipse SMIC. I get reved on enough around here as it is, and don’t really care if anyone knows that I’m boosted. The 7-8 psi is for my satisfaction, not to be the fastest/most noticeable guy on the block. Besides, I plan on resleeving and getting some stronger rods (or having mine shot-peened), so more boost and a FMIC may be in the works down the road. We’ll see how much I like boost first.

I’m sure the eclipse intercooler will be plenty for running 7psi
will you mount it at the front or relocate your battery?

looks like I will have to relocate my battery to run an air filter.

your car will be a sleeper!

Battery relocation. I’ll have to figure something out for filter placement. Going to have to have custom charge pipes anyway, so why not? Not sure yet though. Ian, are you going to be resleeving the block, or any other preparations?

nope. just gonna bolt it on for now.
I will have traction issues as it is :frowning:

I do a lot of auto X and slaloms so traction will be a major issue.
I need to stickier rubber and hopefully a quaife eventually.

unsure what I’m gonna do for an air filter when it gets here.

The main places I cut out to put in my intercooler was,

  1. The bumper support like you did (throughout the foam behind it, serves no purpose)
  2. Hopefully this pic turns out. But you have to cut some of the metal out under your horns. In my pic its directly above the chrome intercooler pipes at the left and right corners of the car.

3)Alot of cutting on my actual bumper skirt to fit the cooler.

if it’s even half as enjoyable as crack, you’re gonna be hooked REAL fast. :stuck_out_tongue:

put the eclipse intercooler in the corner, paint it black and boost it like crazy(well maybe not like crazy) im doing the same thing tonight, except , im using a (bigger) probe gt intercooler. good luck with ur turbo man, ill race ya, whoever blows up 1st, loses!!!
